Simple Question…. If Anderson is retained, where does everyone stand?

I do not think it matters where the few die hard fans on this site stand, we do not have numbers on this site to effect change (although in our heads we like to think we do). I think the general fan base has shown that if you win we will come and fill the arenas but if you lose then you can look at Georgetown.

If he hires an Assistant to take the reins of the Xs and Os on the court then what is Anderson even there for? He's not like Steve Lavin where he's a recruiter first and basketball mind second. Anderson's entire coaching identity is based on his teams' style of play. Give somebody else the reins of the Xs and Os then what's the point of keeping him?
 
i pretty much went to every game during our darkest periods -- end of jarvis and norm years.

that being said, i didn't renew season tickets mainly bc of the schedule.

if CMA is retained, i'd like to see significant changes to his staff -- Particularly replacing TJ -- and see who the new recruits are -- since we are likely to have a pretty significant turnover.

I'll make the call then.

but whether i renew season tix or not, i'll still watch, and go to a handful of games.

biggest difference for me this year compared to the last 20+ years, is that i'm not taking the losses as bad as i use to. that for me is the scary party i guess, since i feel like i'm drifting away....
 
I'd care much less. I'd still watch if I'm not doing anything else, if I am doing something, I'll get updates on the sports app that I have.

Only difference is I won't let the outcome of games/seasons get to me.
Why should I, if the higher ups don't care then why should I? Not like I can change their minds

Plus the school where I work is undefeated v Georgetown this year. I have had many players from the team in my classes and not one has walked into glass wearing yellow sunglasses and then tossing them on the floor if they dont like their quiz grade
 
I’ve been a fan since 1979 so I will continue to stand by the team and the program. I would like to see a change. If there is not a change , then I hope they find NIL money to keep Soriano one more season and they dump Curbelo and go into the transfer portal and bring in another wing shooter. As I said, a starting five next season of Posh, Jones, Storr, Gardner and Soriano would be formidable. A bench of King, Wusu, Pinzon, Stanley and Lededborg with Reede, Keita and a transfer portal wing shooter would be a quality bench.

Then lose in heartbreaking fashion the next night. Bad call, missed free throw, Curbelo’s popcorn butter causes a turnover, something like that.
19-14
Win first game in NIT on Posh’s first made 3 of the season.
Lose next game to finish 20-15
Anderson takes his never had a losing season thing to Central Arkansas.
St John’s hires someone half this board immediately hates. Other half talks themselves into the hire.
 
Sounds great on paper, but I'd put any money they still wouldn't get into the ncaa Tournament, UNLESS Anderson finally listens to his assistants advice, if that happens then they should be in the top half of the league next year.
 
I'd be done with my season tix next year but I'll still go to the msg games to sit with my 114 friends and I'll still go to a couple Carnesecca games for same reason especially when our friend Weathermannyc is healthy enough to come to games. heck I'll still watch on tv most of time.

As far as this site I dont even come here to talk about basketball I come here to talk with my friends

St. John’s won’t participate in the NIT This season.
 
Pitino would be the only coach I'd be upset if we won't go after... Otherwise, I'd keep Anderson, just not to eat the $.. I don't believe any other coach we'd replace him with would move the needle in the short term to get notably better results, increase fan interest and $ support. So, as much as I think he needs to go, I'd live with him if not Pitino.

With this, I dont think they will go after Pitino as I really don't think there is enough people involved who can influence or make decision who have real vision to change, make bold moves, take some calculated risks...

unfortunately I'm coming to the same realization. K or Pitino or Brey. I guess I could get on board with Claxton if they made the tournament.
