Simple Question…. If Anderson is retained, where does everyone stand?

If he is retained either, [1] he agrees to listen to his assistants and take their recommendations, or [2] he hires an X and O assistant, a la St Jean, Dunlap...and lets the assistant run the in game.

The least expensive is Anderson listening to his assistants, the most expensive is firing.

St Johns MBA 91, got seven family members with St Johns degrees, will always root for St Johns...maybe not spend money on tix dragging my ass down from Rockland County...but always root for the Johnnies.

Redmen = Crack, I ain't going nowhere no matter how bad I feel it's gotten. Never missed a Garden Game during the Mahoney error before moving out to California and have attended many games since. PS I am not an alum nor donor so have no position on those issues. Just a college hoops junkie who moved to the city in '84 and got addicted.

A survey like this is meaningless. Just the fact that these fans are posting makes them fans for life who will remain that no matter what the powers to be do. It would have much more meaning if the poll involved other fans, the ones who are more casual about rooting and mainly come on board in the good times.
I suspect a majority of those fans would disappear if Anderson is retained without gaining an NCAA bid. Another sign that the administration is well satisfied with a less than mediocre program.

Us diehards aren't going anywhere. We survived the Jarvis aftermath having to have walk ons play the games and zero bench. We survived Fran dropping his pants. Norm, and let's not forget mullin sitting on scorers table during a time out Well we still got the lawsuit against Anderson and the university by his former assistant? That can be twisted into just cause .

I think I want to think long and hard about what your position is first 🤪
Actually it may be more of a challenge then you know. I have said to myself and on this site that if Anderson is retained, Im done and wont follow the team anymore. But as much as I wish I could do that, I don't know if I can. I've had decades associated with this fiasco of a program and planned many important events in my life around many a game and tournament.

The day my son was born, in March of 1983, after my wife gave birth early in the morning, I left her to rest as what I was supposed to do but I had tickets to the Big East final with St John's at the garden. I jumped in my car, drove from Vernon Valley NJ to the Garden, watched Billy Goodwin put on a show and the Johnnies win. Ran the hell out of there, back up to Vernon Valley NJ, just in time for my wife who had woken up and was nursing my son. Those days, and there were others, I can't forget.

But I also realize that if one supports mediocrity and goes with the flow, as Monte once stated, no change will ever come about. So I am left torn, hoping that the powers that be do the right thing to try to get this thing right for as a bad addiction, I'm not so sure I can stay away.

I will not be surprised if CMA is back next season less his nephew,

Note that I am not saying I want want CMA to return, only that I do not see StJ paying a large buyout at a time faculty cut backs and budgets are being slashed.

i am not going anywhere I will be rooting for StJohn’s regardless of who the coach is.

A friend tells me that “bing a St.John’s fan is a mental disease“; he is probably right.

Facts.

Doesn’t mean I’m pleased with the current regime, but I can never root against my alma mater.
Well said ……

Well said Otis and thank you.

I've been an SJU fan for just a bit shy of 50 years and, as a self-adopted son, I will never, ever stop rooting for the Red and White. It doesn't mean I am not pissed and disappointed along with everyone else. PS - I'll never leave the site unless it is shut down or Paul asks me to do so as I have too many friends here.
