Sim and Brady (not SJU Portal Targets)

Sorry BJR , the fingers typed wrong . I think a lot of fans are too hard on Wilcher . He’s still gots lots of talent and potential to be better .

And , he wasn’t a featured player this year . KR , Zuby , Luis were . Which he might be next year.
He has a great shot technically and can only get better .

He’s not a player you give up on going into his 3 rd year .
Like him a lot, but Sim would really need to improve his handle to be a featured player here. Can't argue with officials on every foul no matter how bad the call is too. Team leaders don't act that way.

On a X Spaces last night hosted by Ryan Olsen, Kofi Richmond Kadary's uncle came on and had lots of good info, he seemed to think Sim and Dunlap both are back, and that Sim will be more mature, stronger physically and a better, smarter defender. FWIW, he thought we could have used Brady's snipping this year especially against a team like Arkansas. He thought Kadary would have had even more assists with Dunlap getting set up for wide open jumpers with K penetrating and kicking out.

I'll add that Kofi Richmond said the AZ State transfer was definitely coming, but he also said Richard P to Nova was a done deal and during the spaces it broke that Richard P was going to Xavier. So he was 1 for 2 on that one.

thing about Sim, I thought he deferred to much to others of offense, seemed he could get a clean shot near the foul line, anytime he wanted. When he did he usually passed the ball out. Sanon has no such issue!

Looks like half of Sanon's shots are off the bounce -- which is crazy given his good %. That's something we didn't have this year outside of the occasional Deivon three.

Wilcher's defense will be valuable...especially at the start of the season.

At the end of the day we need some continuity and sense of culture. Can’t just turnover the whole roster. Zuby-Luis-Wilcher-Dunlap-Lefty-Prey-Ayo is a good 7 to start with imo
Revenue sharing will make the pie bigger and help retain kids, but this is free agency pro basketball now and tough to have continuity we were accustomed to.

Unfortunately I think Wilcher just inched closer to the door, and Dunlap will start inching toward Wilcher the second Hopkins commits if we happen to land him.

Depends on the additions. I like a player going from sophomore to junior year and what he's learned about his skills and weaknesses. Why bet on a new player, unless they are significantly better, when you have a hard working talented player on the roster?
The goal is significantly better. The plan was never to lose in second round.

There's no chance Wilcher starts next season. Will he be OK with that?

Up to him. He's not going to start on any other P5 team. His best bet is to stay here and be our 3rd guard, which is still a very important role. Posted this earlier but a Sim who averages 12 ppg and shoots 45/35 as a junior would be a big piece for us.

I honestly think if he comes back, he will have to fight to be the fourth guard with Lefty. We got Sanon, we got a primary ball handler, and I think we're going to get another guard who's better than Sim right now.

Sim and Lefty are completely different players. I still think next year assuming Sim takes another step I'd rather see him on the court more than Lefty. But obviously depends on who else we land.

I think we're gunning for a roster where Sanon might not even be starting. We just haven't told him or his agent that though. 🤫

So if we are so loaded that Sanon is sixth man, where does that leave Wilcher?
