Seton Hall

At the very least, they have to beat DePaul, Pitt, Providence and USF.

Do that and steal at least one win against Georgetown, Syracuse, Louisville, UConn, Notre Dame and Marquette.

18 wins with a winning record in the conference would be enough going into the BE tourney depending on the match-up. At least one win the BE tourney would clinch it. 19-13 is definitely cutting it close but the odds are that as many as 10 of the losses would be to NCAA Tournament teams.

Realistic post, but you'd have to agree we could lose to any (and all) of the teams we have to beat. It's why I hate looking ahead more than one game, as tempting as it is.

I really really like never again to sit in a Garden overrun and taunted by UCONN fans, so that's one game I really want to win.

The way you lay it out, it is still not an easy task to come out of league even at this point better than .500. Syracuse, Louisville, and ND all away is going to be really difficult to come out with a single win.

Okay.. I'm just looking at DePaul. I really am. really.

uconn to me is the most realistic but just have to beat depaul now see what happens

Would have liked to see Jakarr down low more in the second half; the Hall took away his shot around the foul line. It probably wouldn't have hurt to move Obekpa to the foul line and have Sampson move around down low. Going to have to try this against the Cuse, similar to what Nova did against them yesterday.

Don't want Obekpa away from the basket. Teams sag off him and he thinks he should soot. He should never take a jump shot. Rebounds put backs, block shots, that is his job until his skill set improves over the next couple of years.

In those situations, Obekpa needs to learn to dribble, dribble, dunk or dribble, dribble, dish to the open man. Need to exploit teams that back off of him. He's a solid passer. Need to be smarter instead of coaxed. He's otherwise a smart player.

If you saw Obepka dunk on the break today, dribbling AND dunking ahead of the field without travelling looked like a very tough proposition. Thank goodness the refs didn't blow the whistle.

Don't disagree.

But like you said, that is the realistic path to being in the mix as a last four in type of team. Beating Lousiville or ND again or Syracuse would be great but if they don't beat the ones I listed, they are just running in place.

One game at a time, no more no less, this team just cannot afford to look ahead.
Easy to imagine where we could be sitting had we beat Murray State, U San Fran, UNCA, Villanova and Rutgers.
All 5 of those games were winnable.

Very true. And they could have easily lost both Cincinnatis and ND and Detroit.

So it goes both ways. From my perspective, I had the Murray State and Nova games as losses before the year. But I didn't think they'd beat ND, so they are only two off the 15 wins I thought they'd have under a best-case scenario at this point in the schedule.

If that plays out (and it is a realistic path to 18 wins), I still think they would need two BE tourney wins because they would eventually have a 14th loss (unless they win the tourney, and then of course it would not matter).

Was at MSG yesterday, the only thing that was disappointing was the crowd (7k). We won, we are on a roll- nothing to be negative about. Lets pound Depaul and move forward!

I think it was almost 8k, but it was almost all SJU fans. Hall fans were scant from the way it seemed.

It's just nice to see a team who, despite giving up that big lead, found a way to weather the storm and come out with the win. This team just looks better than they did a few weeks ago. I know I'm being a bit optimistic but I wouldn't be surprised to see us pull a few upsets if the kids and just keep their minds right.

Ive seen smaller crowds with higher announced attendance. I thought the reported # was a little light. It was a good crowd.

while our crowds are still relatively small, I do feel we are more vocal then in past years. And our opponents are not traveling well . Now if we could add 2 - 3K to these pedestrian games I'd be happy.

I had a row full of Hall fans near me, but it was a decent crowd. We won that is what counts.

oh and the line was 4.5 so I wasnt happy leaving yesterday

I laid the 4.5 too, ouch . Why did Willard call a TO if he wan't going to foul w/ 5 seconds left.

I think he was going to foul. Branch was just too quick, and got away twice.

That's why I would never bet any of the teams that I root for, when they are a favorite. Under any circumstances.

To remind his guys he bet on them.

So you lose money because a 19 y.o. misses one too many free throws. Or a coach calls off his team instead of fouling at the end; etc. 4.5 pt line and we win by 4. What sane person would gamble?

The same sane people smoke cigarettes that prove to kill and drink themselves to death. The world is full of vices.
