How do you know Anderson BSed his way into getting hired?

Lastly, the "40 Minutes of Hell" is a slogan fans held onto moreso than Anderson. He played some pressure ball, but no way any college team can consistently play that sort of style nowadays.
Frankly, when he was hired, we were lucky to get him, given the debacle that occurred on the last hiring effort. But it hasn't worked out, unfortunately.

Literally one of the most frustrating games I’ve watched
Happy to kick in for a one way ticket
I’ve never seen somebody who is a fan of a coach and not a program. He literally became a regular on here because he’s a fan of Anderson. So strange

No one is exempt from this embarrassment of a season. It is a collective effort, from top down.

The coaching has been abysmal and the players have regressed (sans Soriano).

When a season that you expected to battle for an NCAA tournament spot instead becomes a season where the remainder of the games (since mid January) are rendered meaningless, there must be a reckoning.

The program is past being a punchline. That would infer that people at least are paying attention. We are at the state of apathy. SJU hoops is a nonentity. No one cares outside of this small community of masochists (and even many here are surrendering). If the university does not care about its flagship sports program, there is no reason anyone of us should spend an ounce of silver or passion.

Pull the plug on the coach. Ok, do it at the end of the year. Whatever. It is now unfair even to Anderson. It is obvious he does not have answers and is unable to fix this mess. This will make it zero NCAA’s during his four years. Even Mullin managed to get SJU in a play-in game.

When the clueless board of directors get together for cocktails and wonder how to raise money, hopefully one of them brings up investing in a dynamic coach. No more shoving a square peg in a round hole.

Like I've stated previously, he's probably a relative, friend, or someone who is extremely fond of Anderson due to being in his presence on numerous occasions.

Was thinking
If Anderson stupid winning season streak dies, he may just ride it out here then retire.
If it barely continues, he may try to get out with his National rep still somewhat intact and maybe try for another job down South.

We're getting killed by not playing defense and by not pressing on the gas pedal when the other team is off their game and not extending leads. In multiple games this year, the other team opens very sluggish and instead of being up by 10 or 15 we are only up by 5-7 points, and then let them close out the half tied or in the lead or last night only being up by 2-3 points. Lazy DEE and letting up on the gas. You know most games, teams that are off their game will find it eventually, and we cannot weather that (Red) Storm.

I was at the arena tonight and watching us lose which was not that pleasant. Also it was not a great night for the coach IMHO. First and foremost he needed to have sat Curbelo down before he was thrown out. From my very close to the court seat it was totally clear that he was emotionally out of control and should have been taken out immediately. The whole thing was a distraction that took quite a bit of the wind out of the team's sail. Curbelo is a different type of personality but it is still the coach's job to harness his skills and get him to operate in the best interests of the team as a whole. His emotional escapades have been to the detriment of the team and the coach needed to be better on top of it.

To me the other defining moments of the game were twofold: First us not finding Dawes on defense and having him nailing multiple open threes in the second half was a bad look. We saw this act on December 31st and watching it happen again, without making the proper adjustments was frustrating to see. Second and most important was our poor response when Holloway went to the zone in the second half. We had zero clue of how to attack it and that is when the game really got away from us. Again it is hard not to look at coaching for much of this. Personally I have been mostly a Mike Anderson supporter, but for the growing chorus who want him gone tonight's game gives them plenty more evidence to support their point of view.

Lastly, I have a very different take on Posh's performance tonight than things I read throughout this thread. This game thread seemed to be mostly critical of him, but I thought he was actually heroic in defeat. Again, because I sat very close up I was able to see him wincing in pain throughout his entire 25 minutes on the floor. He played incredibly hard and gutted it out despite being well below 100 %. Personally, I found his heart and effort inspirational and also though his play, especially on the defensive side of the ball, was excellent. I would venture to guess that most guys would not have suited up in his condition, but Posh really is as tough and hard nosed a player as we have had in many years.
Completely agree with you. Posh was huge, despite playing a bit hurt and somewhat winded. We had a depleted backcourt. Whoever criticized king and his play, yes he did try once to make a hero play and got burned once on a drive, but I like him and expect some quality contribution from him the rest of the year, especially if pinzon remains out and posh is hobbled.

And the tenor of the game did change with cuebelo's ejection. Despite being up by 7, they needed his minutes. Posh and wusu were already shouldering a heavy load.
