You had to mention Jenkins? You just woke up a sleeping giant better known as Marillac. No, I completely agree!
I made a joke about Pitino's intentions precisely because this is the first loss we've had where we've been so preoccupied by Pitino that we haven't once discussed Daniss Jenkins. lol
Yep as I want to learn from the best and be challenged. Pitino didn’t get stupid overnight, agree he could have handled it better.Just an educated guess. Would you come back?
Jump rope, lots of leg training with legs, calves etc.How can you work at being slow?
You either have foot speed, or you don't. That doesn't change.
You should write an exercise book.Jump rope, lots of leg training with legs, calves etc.
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, Hell NOI!It's never over till its over
lolBut hey, what do I know, talented kids are flocking to play for Danny Hurley, who I find to be one of the more unhinged coaches in the country
I know it doesn’t change yours or anyone’s opinion but Danny is a good guy, really is, which is why his players love him, which is why he is a good recruiter. I guess because I know him and was also out of control at times when competing I look at things differently.lol
UConn's Dan Hurley seemingly threatened to knock out a fan after massive loss to Creighton
If true, this was not Dan Hurley’s most shining moment.ftw.usatoday.com
Straight from a Jersey City Heights buddy, who knew him, and the rest of the Hurleys, Danny is alright, but has demons that he is still working through, not just being a hot head with a very short fuse. Goes back to his playing days and an inferiority complex he couldn't shake, on the play grounds of JC and beyond.I know it doesn’t change yours or anyone’s opinion but Danny is a good guy, really is,
I do believe he is a good guy off the court.I know it doesn’t change yours or anyone’s opinion but Danny is a good guy, really is, which is why his players love him, which is why he is a good recruiter. I still have ex-players remind me of when I got a technical down a point with less than 2 minutes in the game for hurling a white board marker onto the court floor towards a ref who just made a call against us; luckily, we won but far from my finest moment. Incredible I didn't get tossed but only got T’d up. I think the refs bought it when I told them I was only trying to bang it against the white board and it slipped out of my hand. In reality I saw red and had/have no idea what happened.
My players knew me so well none of them were really pissed during the game but really thought it was kind of funny in the huddle while the shots were taken.
Edit, to add, I don’t think I ever coached a player that couldn’t tell an “out of control” temper story about me.
No doubt about either IMO. Danny is extremely hard on himself, I heard either Terry Dehere or Jerry Walker tell a story from HS about Danny going like 9-10, ST. Anthony’s winning easy and Danny only talking after the game about the layup he had missed. In his own eyes, he was just never “good enough”. Pursuing perfection and berating yourself for not achieving it are two very different things.Straight from a Jersey City Heights buddy, who knew him, and the rest of the Hurleys, Danny is alright, but has demons that he is still working through, not just being a hot head with a very short fuse. As a player at Seton Hall he was extremely disliked by a lot of people at the school.
Again, sorry but as I posted to passitback, sticks and stones, much ado about nothing, modern softness. And to you and he, my last comment.I do believe he is a good guy off the court.
His lack of commitment to change his behavior during games... I disagree with though. I don't care how competitive someone is, he needs to tone it down IMO. Threatening to beat up students after your first loss in weeks is just too much
The people who moan and groan about softness in younger generations sound equally soft being so worried about it.Again, sorry but as I posted to passitback, sticks and stones, much ado about nothing, modern softness. And to you and he, my last comment.

its funny how expressing someone's behavior is inappropriate nowadays can just be deflected by saying "ah the worlds too soft these days"Again, sorry but as I posted to passitback, sticks and stones, much ado about nothing, modern softness. And to you and he, my last comment.
No, it’s not coming, it’s already here, and if you can’t see and understand the difference between words and actions no one can help you. WORDS only have the power you are willing to give them. WORDS are NOT behavior, they are nothing but the posturing and dancing before actions and the VAST majority of time they go nowhere.its funny how expressing someone's behavior is inappropriate nowadays can just be deflected by saying "ah the worlds too soft these days"
I wonder what he'll have to do out there before even you tap out and can't defend it. Trust me its coming
Completely disagree. Language/speaking connects human beings and the way people speak matters. It always has and always willNo, it’s not coming, it’s already here, and if you can’t see and understand the difference between words and actions no one can help you. The world would be a much better place if it never went down the abyss where words matter, in many cases in modern society, way more so than actions, which are more often than not accepted and explained away and more sadly, JUSTIFIED and then RESPONSPONSBILITY for said actions deemed unnecessary by even more WORDS.
