Seton Hall (UBS), Sun., Feb. 18, 5p, FS-1

Not buying the Soriano practice hype by Pitino. Did he miraculously grow his bad hands and bad positioning overnight to become Bob Lanier?
Soriano does not have bad hands, Did he “miraculously” turn into an eight point a game sub-par rebounder who gets dominated by the likes of the Josh Oduros of the world? Soriano may not be as good as we hoped he would be but he is nowhere near as bad as he’s playing. He started off the Big East quite strong, but something is clearly off with him. I expect a bounce back game from him today.

6-0 over the next six games; we finish with 20 wins, and are a shoe-in for the tourney.

Excited Oh Yeah GIF

Very sad to say that with 6 conference games remaining I refuse to allow myself to be optimistic today.

I will go today. I will root in a lifeless UBS arena.

If we lose, the next meaningless bar will be a 10-10 finish in conference, which will not be likely unless we beat SHU at home.

Wait till next year is the lament of losers, the rallying cry for Mets fans.

If Shanley was a genius and savior for spending $20 million of university endowment to guarantee Rick after signing off and likely advocating on Anderson's extension, does he look less like a GOAT president, or the goat in the old fashioned sense of the word. Let's not forget the huge spend on NIL this year.

Not knocking Pitino, but we will spend the off-season lamenting whether the roster he inherited needed teaks and not an overhaul, and whether what came in the door wasn't as good as what went out.

Life as an SJU fan, where winning always seems harder for us than anyone else - even when the university spends on a HOF coach and generous alums and fans pay the players hefty sums.

I don’t think we need to go 6-0, I think 11 conference wins gets us in. Pitino himself said he thought 11 or 12 wins would do it. But lose today and the mission becomes almost impossible (but not impossible).
