@Seton Hall, Tue., Jan. 16, 8:30p, FS-1

How about their resident DJ turning around, taunting, cursing and gesturing to the students to flip off the SJU fans - ALL NIGHT. It was an insane scene - watching this 50 year old guy try to be one of the students with his vulgar mannerisms. I wouldn't mind if it was students, but this was an employee of the arena or Seton Hall...really weird behavior
You can tell that guy was a loser. One student left the student section and started handing out COVID tests to St. John's fans in other sections also. Classless, but also, isn't this a pro arena? Where the hell was security?

Losing to Seton Hall irritates me more than any other Big East school.

I also don't believe he'll watch the remaining games without any expectations. He's too wound up and negative in the game threads, so no way am I buying it.
Re Covid, I am assuming that a negative test is required before returning to the sidelines. I had symptoms on a Tuesday, tested positive on Wednesday, and was still positive a week later. The symptoms were mild, like a slight cold after a few hours of a fever and a day of a dry cough. So the problem might not be how they feel, but how soon they test negative.
When I had Covid last year, the nurse practitioner said the policy was I could return to work after 5 days.

I’m not defending anybody physically assaulting someone unprovoked. If he went out and punched a manager on his own then there’s no place for him on my team. If that’s what happened I feel we would have heard more. An argument that gets physical with pushing and shoving is different IMO.
It was more than just a punch, it was an assault and the young man was knocked out which should have come with an immediate team suspension. Interesting that another coach would bring in a player who did such a thing…. Win at all costs??? I’m glad he’s no longer at St. John’s.

I have only ever seen references to it on this site, but if it were really that serious why did I never hear about an investigation or anything, was it just swept under the rug?

I think the last thing all parties involved want to have is a media scrutiny/public investigation on what happened.

I regret even bringing this up, but I can't believe this fan base after one loss is already forgetting about how toxic our team was last year.

I was at the game last night. It sucked. Out coached, out hustled, out toughed. But there's a reason why Anderson is getting sued by the university and it's not because Shanley is pinching pennies. Last night was almost half the games last year. We gotta move on...

I live in South Orange - so glad the game started late and I decided not to take the fam to Newark. Would've been brutal!

Whether Pitino was there or not they still lose this game and badly. Perhaps not by as big a score but by a good margin just the same. Forget the lack of hustle , energy and all that, the Hall had an answer for everything we threw at them. When we went to our porous 2-3 match up zone, they picked it apart by flashing a player to the middle, drawing Joel away from the basket and finishing with a dunk. The same goes for our full court pressure .

What many may have a hard time hearing here is that this team with overall superior talent, was not just outplayed but severely out coached in this particular game, and those posters who know the game saw that. It’s not like the Hall had a great shooting night or anything like that, they were just far better prepared.
disagree that we would have lost badly even with RP…not that he can’t lose big, but as you say SH didn’t shoot it well…in fact, we shot it better…I think that he would not have allowed that sloppiness-fueled SH run to have persisted. At 24-24, the game turned on that run and continued right into the 2nd half.

Doesn't matter and not our business, but curious still as to what possibly could have been the cause for any physical altercation between player and student manager? Did the mgr flirt w/ players girl or did he not provide a cold enough drink or dry towel? 😆 🤣

It is unfathomable to me that Pitino would allow a 28-0 run across two halves.

I am not forgetting about how toxic the team was last year, but a lot of the more serious details are just passed along through the grapevine on this site, and sometimes its hard to sort out what is real and what isnt

Getting beat from start to finish sucks. We as fans need to realize it’s not an issue that just St. John’s has and in fact happens often to good teams in college basketball all the time!

This year
Seton Hall - Road losses of 20, 18, & 13

CU- road loss by 21, Neutral loss by 15

MQ- road losses of 15 & 11

Nova- road loss by 13, Home loss by 13

X- road loss by 15, Home loss by 12

Prov- road loss by 21, Home loss by 20

But- road losses of 20, 16 & 14
Great perspective

There’s allot more to the story then most know. There was a push by one party to have Wusu suspended but there was another faction that didn’t want the school to incur the negative publicity that would go along with that. It was kept under wraps for a while but like anything else, especially with the staff change, information got out.

I'm just hoping that we don't develop case of "Philadelphia Eagles Syndrome". All kidding aside, we're never as good as we look on our best day, and never as bad as we look on our worst. Let's see how we rebound against Marquette at home. That will tell us a lot about the character of this team, and what we can expect moving forward.

i was hoping that after the close loss at Creighton, the Seton Hall game would have told us about the character of this team. Let’s hope it didn’t.
