Didn’t he punch the locker room manager or something to that extent?? I don’t care how hard he played, that type of culture destroying behavior is unacceptable.
I’m not defending anybody physically assaulting someone unprovoked. If he went out and punched a manager on his own then there’s no place for him on my team. If that’s what happened I feel we would have heard more. An argument that gets physical with pushing and shoving is different IMO.

credit to taylor too. i know he doesn't exist when we have the ball in hand, but he held two-time player of the week and their best scorer to 12 points on 4 - 14 shooting. and considering richmond put up maybe 6 before taylor even got in the game, really taylor held him to 6 points over roughly 30 minutes of basketball. they scored 80 on us, but their top guy was basically a non-factor. taylor is a beast on the defensive end
Totally agree. Why he does not look for his shot is mystifying.

It’s ok for a big guy built like a linebacker to push around a student manager in the locker room? Really?

The one good thing that came out of last nights ass kicking is that now I just relax and watch the rest of the games this season because I no longer have any expectations for this team at all. My expectations previously were not unreasonable. I just expected them to get an NCAA bid. Not even to win a game. Just get a bid. But , I no longer have even that expectation anymore. Something just always jumps up and bites us. Whether it’s poor play, injury, illness or some combination of the three. Hopefully everyone gets healthy and they can pull this thing together in time to accomplish their goals this season. As Paultz said, in a short season it gets late early. I know this is the toughest part of our schedule but we have to win at least a couple of these tough games.

So a road loss in January, with the team still squarely in ncaa picture, eliminates any hope you had for a successful season?

I also don't believe he'll watch the remaining games without any expectations. He's too wound up and negative in the game threads, so no way am I buying it.

Every team has bad days, but a lack of effort from 90% of the roster is inexcusable, unless it is Covid/illness related. Remember too that these players are now being paid, some of them apparently quite handsomely.

Like most, have cooled down a bit since last night and hoping to chalk it up to just a clunker that almost every team has in the middle of conference play. However the one thing that still drives me crazy is this staff still living in the 90s in regards to the two foul autobench in the first half.

Obviously don't think sitting Luis and Alleyne the whole half after they picked up two fouls cost us the game by any stretch but it certainly didn't help having those guys on the bench when SHU ended the half on a 14-0 run. We basically let SHU put the game out of reach because we couldn't risk Luis and Alleyne (a 5th year senior who averages 3 fouls committed per 40) pick up their 3rd fouls in the first half.

Unlike some boomer coaches (Boeheim), Pitino has been great at evolving with the game. I don't know why he's stuck in the 90s on this issue.

We can even go 10-8 or so in the Big East with some good fortune. But everyone on this forum to my knowledge - I know I do - wants more than that. We want a great team, a top 15 team, a team we expect to lpost-season run.
Not I. I live on Long Island...not fantasy Island. I want to qualify for the Ncaa tournament and lose in the first round. That's what I see as the high water mark for us because that's all I've seen this century and even if Wooden himself rode in on a golden chariot I'm not sure he could fix the curse. I am impressed with Pitino so far and grateful he's here. I just want to hang around .500, go 4 and 0 against Depaul and Gtown (although 3 and 1 very possible) and go into the BE tournament needing a win or 2 to dance. Though it wouldn't surprise me at all to miss by the slimmest possible margins of the Uconn or Creighton heartbreaks.

I said I wouldn't post until Friday but I felt I could talk about COVID. I believe the current CDC guidelines say that the day you test positive is day zero so that would be Tuesday at a minimum you need five days after that which would preclude Pitino from coaching on Saturday assuming he is even well enough. Now I don't believe this is a law but I would find it strange for a public figure particularly a basketball coach from not adhering to this. As for Dingle I have no idea what he is sick with and whether he has tested positive and if so when. It is possible someone else could get it but that is a complete unknown. Curious to see what happened.
I am not sure as well, but it sounds like RP started to have symptoms many days before he tested, if so, he may be 7 days later and not contagious

Come on tell us how you really feel 🤣

My understanding is that Pitino was literally not even allowed to bring back Wusu if he wanted to. That's enough context I need.
Kids will get away with what they can. The innmates ran the asylum under CMA. These same kids now are on their best behavior at their new schools and seem to be benefiting from it.

Yes, the kids take some blame for their actions last year but CMA was the biggest problem.

My VERY early understanding and saying what I am allowed to is they THINK Rick and Jordan should be cleared by Sat...their is A LOT of monitoring of the other players(and staff) for "health" symptoms and their is real concern of others possibly missing time. I can say 100% that the kids I know about are adamant about playing Sat and "being healthy"
Was at the game, nothing to say except was really impressed by how Sha after each time out would look at the kids and say"understand?"
He is turning into a very good coach and an impressive mentor.
Have no interest in taking poorly about kids and known Dylan forever....he wasn't welcome back and didn't want to be back.

Lol alls I'm saying is as we learned in the UConn, Providence, and Creighton games that every possession and point matters. Even letting a team outscore us by 4-6 down the stretch of the first half because we aren't playing optimal lineups in fear of a guy picking up a 3rd foul can cost us an important game going forward

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately even if cleared by Saturday, Rick not being at practice for nearly a full week is probably as detrimental as him not being on the sidelines for a game two

Agree we should move on about the former players. Them maturing in their new places is a great thing.

Prudential Center is a really bleak place to watch your team lose, especially with having to watch Gyration John and Flag Man.

That said, it would be fantastic to be there when we finally win there & to see all of their fans miserable afterwards.
How about their resident DJ turning around, taunting, cursing and gesturing to the students to flip off the SJU fans - ALL NIGHT. It was an insane scene - watching this 50 year old guy try to be one of the students with his vulgar mannerisms. I wouldn't mind if it was students, but this was an employee of the arena or Seton Hall...really weird behavior
