@Seton Hall, Sun. Jan. 22, 12 Noon, FS1/570AM

They are down on Willard & the staff because he has not shown the ability to recruit well without hiring assistant coaches to land players. They have a good kid coming in next season, and Powell was a nice get, but the fan base is concerned that if they miss the tourney this year with a starting 5 of 4 juniors and 1 senior, the roster may look very differently next year if Delgado or any of the others go pro.

Think they are in a Lavin situation with Willard, especially if he can get them to the tournament this year. If they keep him maybe he figures out a way to land some more talent in the next couple of years. If they let him go, they could be starting again.Wonder if Danny Hurley is in their future.

Seton Hall open as 8-point favorites

We should lose this game somewhere between 6 and 12 points. Unless we pull another Syracuse or Georgetown. I am pretending the LIU and Delaware State games never happened because they don't make sense to me.

Carrington oversleeps, misses team bus. Delgado gets called for three fouls in the first 5 mins and is a non-factor. Willard gets teed up and ejected. Mussini has a triple-double (just to tick off Fun) and we win by 25. And then I woke up...

Based on what I read on the Seton Hall forum, I think we'd be better off with Willard being on the sidelines.

Seton Hall fans hate Willard. Holloway would be their coach and the fans would be in over the moon.

Not being a Seton Hall fan and looking at it from an outsiders perspective, I would say Willard has done a pretty good job for them.

They won the BE Tournament just last year.

Many SH fans see it in terms of having only one NCAA appearance in his first six years there, and with a current conference record of 2-4, even if they go 7-5 the rest of the way, it's very iffy they'd get an at-large NCAA bid this year, making it one appearance in seven years. As for last year's BE title, right or wrong, many of them see Whitehead and Delgado having had more to do with winning the BE title than Willard.

What do the fans know anyway!

They have a solid team, they are just missing that one guy who can go 1 on 1 and score. Powell may be that guy but he is young.
Will be a tough game.

And a point guard. That spot is a black hole in their offense.

If we play like we did against Dlaware ST we lose by 20

Important to get off to strong start. A lot of pressure on Seton Hall if they do not start off well they will be feeling the pressure after losing their last 3.

Dear Johnnies,

If you do not put a hand in Desi Rodriguez's grill, he will torch you from beyond the arch.

Sincerely,

Cant see us winning this game unless both Ponds and Lovett get hot
Ellison could have another great game and Bash could also step up. But Lovetts going to have to play better than he did against DePaul if we want to be in the game. The nice thing about he DePaul game was the balanced scoring. Ponds,Ellison. Bash and Owens had good offensive games which offset Lovetts bad game. Bash is good at drawing fouls, would love to see his free throws improve.

You can get the Good guys +9 at the Wynn.

SHU tends to get off to a slow start, we have to come out hitting 3's as they have a tendency to over help. They are bigger to a man so that extra length is going to help them close out on our jump shooters.

We should foul Delgado ever time he has good position in the paint.

If Ponds was tired, and if Lovett was injured, well they just had 5 days off.
That rest should help them a good deal.

Hope both go off, hope Ellison gets some consistentcy going, hope Bashir finds himself and get going.
A win here would be big, gets us back to 500., and I don't care if SHU is desperate. We should be desperate in every game after last year. Then to Pc and they are struggling, I could see I win there.
5-4 in the B.E. would be pretty sweet.
But first things first, do I see a win @ SHU? I'm not to confident, but that's why you play the game, ya never know.

No surprises in either starting lineup today. LoVett, Ponds, Ellison, Ahmed, Yakwe; Jones, Carrington, Desi, Sanogo, Delgado #shbb #sjubb

I don't expect to win today. However, if we do, I predict that I will be significantly pumped. Thank you.

St. John's looks unusually loose during warm-ups. Dancing, throwing alley-oops, windmills. #

For my guy, Weatherman :)

I like the 1-2-2 three quarters court press which StJohn's is showing after made baskets.

Must be the first time he's seen us.

We are not getting beaten, we are beating ourselves so far. Ugly ball.
