@Seton Hall, Sat., Jan. 18, 8p, FS-1

A couple of weeks ago I had made a comment on here I didn't feel the same connection to this team as I did teams of years past, something just felt different about the energy, and someone correctly pointed out that's the state of things with the current transfer portal environment and having a different roster every year.

Well I wanted to point out that I've felt a shift over the past few games. The energy has changed. And a great example to me of this was an injured Deivon Smith on the bench last night being the biggest supporter of his teammates all night. Feels like the team has really been to gel as a group and I'm excited to see it.

I have seen a couple of Seton Hall games. They are not on the same level as St. John’s talent wise. We *should* have a big night. Of course the cliche is true that the games are played and decided on the court. Holloway will have them give their best effort because it’s local and personal. Our effort level must match them. As we’ve seen we do start slow sometimes.

I fully expect our defense will give them fits. They’ll keep it close early but SJU pulls away late. Something like 82-65.

Something shifted when we won @X. Felt like the tipping point of the team accepting how they were going to need play due to some of the shooting weaknesses. They have bought in fully from there.

I saw some messages about going to the game. I think we are trying to takeover section 7 (behind St. John's bench)
please do! this is the one away game this year I would want to attend.

Anyone on the fence about going- GO! lol.... make it MSG South (?) West (?).... the kids are gonna need it... i expect a war on Saturday

Just hold on. When we lose a couple you'll feel disconnected again.

BT should know better on bullet point #1.
It’s our best 18 game start since 2018-19.

Tied for best start since 1985. ;)

And as mentioned in the other thread the metrics this year are fare better than that year. Hell, there was a loss to Depaul included in the 15-3.

This is a trap game for us. Don't underestimate the Hall to spoil here. We need to play 2 full halves and blow them out, leaving no doubt.
Kadary is stoic by nature. Always. He is going to be hearing it this time. Naturally, I'm sure he will feel some of it, but I'm hoping he typical calm demeanor that can sometimes drive folks here batty is a huge asset on Saturday.

I'll be there . Going with a bunch of people. We should try to pack this game out as much as we can. You know how many time this past decade Seton Hall has come into Carnesecca and the Garden chanting "Lets go Pirates" while we would sit there quiet because we were losing . Tired of it, this ends now too
I cannot go, but I hope as many of you go as possible. And tickets should be cheaper, I'm sure, than what ours have been going for on the secondary market for MSG games.
