@Seton Hall, Sat., Jan. 18, 8p, FS-1

My main worry for this game is coming out flat and getting caught in a rock fight. It is going to be dead in there (however there might be a good opportunity for a johnnie takeover if we get enough fans to cross the border) and I don't want our team to sleepwalk and get themselves into trouble. Take care of business and then get ready for the next stretch, because I think the X and GTown rematches will be tight games.
I actually expect this to be the their fan base's Super Bowl this year. If you go on Ticketmaster, you'll see that there's 15 tickets left that aren't re-sale. I expect it to "sell out" (quotations because they will never open the upper bowl).

I also am worried about a slow start because I think it'll hurt our crowd and get theirs going.

Another rock fight coming, yes. Expect another game where it's close-ish for a half or a bit more and then SJU closes. The talent disparity is too big for the Hall to keep it closer than about 8, I think.
If it’s another rock fight, I hope that Wusu is not carrying the rocks as he’s been known to to throw a good knock out punch and a few of our guys are beat up enough from the past few games.
😂👍

Surprised by this. I figured a poor SH team (after a good run of success in recent years) + going up against NFL would lead to a lot of available tickets still on Ticketmaster. Hopefully we have a good presence.

Frankly, I think we kick Xavier's ass again. The rematch versus Georgetown could be another tough one. We'll also have Smith back for that one, which will be a huge boost.

If the entire lower bowl is sold out by Wednesday for a Saturday game, shouldn't they open at least a small portion of the upper?

I've watched a bunch of Seton Hall games this year, and it's almost shocking how little talent they have. I mean they are not very good at all. And Wusu seems to be the exact same player he was as a Freshman with us. Hasn't developed at all.

Their most competent guy for SH is Holloway, but he’s not a magician.

This is not an optional win. Their kenpom is 150. Go win it and win it big.
I agree dk, the fact of the matter is that, if we lose this game it destroys our metrics. It be akin to losing to DePaul last year if we had lost to them. We’ll drop 7 spots in the NET if we lose this game. I don’t think we’ll lose but if we were to it would be damaging. Would it kill us, no. But, it would be very damaging.

DePaul last year was historically horrendous. Their Kenpom last year was 330.

It would be worse than our loss to Michigan last year. Their Kenpom was 128.

Much like last night, but at least we had the crowd spurring us on.

with any luck, will put a decent crew of refs on this game as I expect some undisciplined Seton Hall players to get chippy w Kadaray. Especially, if the game gets away from them which I think it will.

Seton Hall had about 2,000 fans at their last "home" game versus Depaul.

I think they will have fans show up for this one, regardless of their season to date. It is Saturday at 8:00 pm and while most of the NJ sports fans will be watching NFL playoffs or out doing fun stuff, there is a segment of the Hall fanbase that had this date circled because of Kadary's return. I'm talking about the kind that needs a bottle of whiskey and a few therapy sessions to function through a winter that involves a successful St. John's team with Richmond on it (thankfully for them, Rutgers is having a tough stretch, otherwise the prospect of a Bailey/Harper attention-fueled Rutgers squad might make them leap).

This and UCONN will very much be the Hall's Super Bowl this year.

We have to come out expecting a Rock Fight and for the Hall kids to play hard. They have talent despite the record.
