@Seton Hall, Sat., Dec. 31, Noon, FS-1

Much like Xavier was a bad matchup for us, i think we are a bad matchup for Seton Hall. They aren't big down low. they are a dribble first offense, and shooting is suspect. If Joel is an anchor for us both offensively and defensively, we'll be in position to win. While the Rock has not been kind, we can change that tomorrow. I think it temporarily numbs the pain of the season tho

Think Samuel can hold his own inside vs Soriano, aside from him they have a team full of forwards.

This may be the perfect matchup to start staggering curbelo and posh a bit. Kadary is a a big PG who uses his size well. Dawes is a small off guard, our two pg’s are a good matchup for him.

I'm sorry, but I just don't understand the hate towards Cragg. The man single handedly brought many aspects of the athletic department out of the stone age. How easily we forget how much of a mom & pop shop this whole school was run as prior to him coming on board. The last coaching search was a total disaster that can't fully be blamed on him at all, it was out of his control. Attendance is going to be driven by having a winning program, and we certainly don't have that. But again, Cragg can't play the games on the court.
Here's where I disagree. In terms of the coaching search, how do you know it cant be blamed on him? Was he not the main go to guy in the search? He had no experience whatsoever in doing a search and pulled Anderson out of his proverbial ass with a last minute recommendation from a Duke guy. Did he bother to investigate why Anderson was let go by Arkansas, which clearly made a great move by letting him go?Secondly, did Cragg not give Anderson an extended contract? What had Anderson done to deserve that so quickly? He has still not sniffed post season play. So now, if Anderson fails, the school may be stuck with him.

I think that Cragg sold the school a bill of goods with the "Duke" title behind him. Cragg being a great AD is kind of like Mullin being a great coach cause he was a St. John's legend and NBA all star.

If our nation can have an 80 year old President, why can't St John's have a 71 year old coach?
And how's that working out? Merry Easter. :)

Bottom line... Seton Hall is now in last place in the conference with a new coach and is struggling. This is a must win for the Johnnies from a "looks" stand point. While it's early in the season, the general interest level will go down to zero if the Johnnies cant come through with a win.

It’s factual that SH is 0-3 and last in BE . But , they haven’t played DePaul yet , as we did or we could easily be 0-3 if we had faced Providence , Xavier and Marquette as the Hall did . They lost71-67 to PC in Newark but , the game could have gone either way . They lost to Xavier on the Road in Cinn 73-70 , again a close game . Only Marquette in Milwaukee was a large loss . Hopefully we grab away game in Newark today and win ! The Xavier game surfaced , finally , a realization that this Team and Coach are flawed . Talk of a NCAA or , even NIT bid are fantasies currently . Hope springs eternal but , reality is harsh .

Yes, I don’t doubt that the Hall is better then their record and it will be a competitive game. I was merely referring to the optics as most casual fans, unlike you, I and posters on this site see an 0-3 last place team and losing to them would be a very bad look. That’s if any casual fan is even watching anymore.

Hard to imagine we are in the tourney if we lose today, we barely look like an NIT team right now. You can blame a lot of things, including coaching and match ups, but at the end of the day, our players are not good shooters. That's why we lose.

There's always one player on the opposition that has a great game vs. us. I'm figuring on Samuels having the big game today. Unfortunately.

It's hard to win when your two guards play 60 minutes and shoot 35% from the field. Or worse.
