Selection Sunday

Congrats to the team and coaches. Now let the complaining begin...
After our last 2 plus weeks, I don’t think anyone can complain about this. New slate.
Totally agree. However, there are some who will not be able to enjoy it even for a second and will complain that the sky is falling. Bottom line is that there are 285 D1 teams right now wishing they were in our position.

Last in and given an opportunity by the committee. Let's make the most of it. A lot of preparation needed after the most disappointing loss of the season. Can the players regroup? Happy to see Marvin Clark get a chance at redemption after his last game in NYC.
Arizona State has a lot of size which worries me.

Zylan Cheatham is 6'8.
Kimani Lawrence is 6'7.
Romello White is 6'8.
Taeshon Cherry is 6'8.
De'Quon Lake is 6'10.

So that's FIVE of their eight regular rotation players.
Looking at the stats, I’m not gonna pretend i know this team, their best scorers are all their guards.

If any team is due for a hot streak it's us.. we haven't had a winning streak (more then 2 in a row)since we started 12-0

No matter what we think congrats to the coaches and players. Very fortunate indeed.

Now I hope they have a chip on their shoulder as "last team in crap" was self inflicted yet probably overstated. I mean just look at some other resumes and it was a weak year.

Everyone and I mean everyone associated with this program should see this as an opportunity to flip the entire narrative of the end of this season. See if you can win a couple of games and they can come out with their heads held high.

IF they show up they are capable of winning against almost anyone. Go out and prove it. Huge opportunity.

The NCAA is evil. They love juicy matchups.

Us and Hurley
Hurley if winning playing his old school Buffalo.
Little Pitino vs. Lville.

Btw how is Marquette a 5 and Nova a 6. Nova won the BE regular season and the tournament. I know the complete body but still.

A half hour ago we were sure we deserved to get in over AZ ST. Now we just have to go out and prove it. Go SJ.

Think about it, we played our way to the last team in......Everyone had us projected as an 11 seed.

Always knew that last spot was ours!Like us being buried for dead, only way we play well!

Let's enjoy the next couple of days. Now is the time to all be in. Generate all the good sports karma you can.

We are...tourney bound!

I don’t care what seed we are just happy to be in the tourney! Not a bad draw either if we beat Arizona State I think we definitely can beat Buffalo , both teams have some size but are guard driven. Buffalo has two players that are 6’10” but one averages 6 points the other 1 point.

Interesting connection...

Zylan Cheatham was on San Diego St. as a redshirt when we played them (and former Johnnie Dwayne Polee) in our last tournament game four years ago.

Yeah their starters are actually 6'0", 6'4", 6'4", 6'8", 6'8" so pretty similar to ours. It's just their next 4 in are 6'7" and taller and they all produce stats unlike our next 4 in who are lucky to total 6 points, 8 fouls and a handful of rebounds. Hopefully our starters don't run out of gas cause they'll all be playing 10 minutes more than theirs will. Somebody's gonna have to keep Cheatham off the boards or he'll get 15.

We all know what our team has to do, if we hit our threes early it opens everything else up for us and we will win. Let’s have a hot shooting night!!

Prediction: Earlington helps us win a tourney game and immediately entered the top 300 players in program history.

Despite all of the disappointments this season, we seem to have nine lives. We are now officially 0-0. It's a new season and we control our own fate. If we play with the energy and passion that we displayed against DePaul in the Big East tournament, we could be very dangerous. I hope that our team represents and shows the Selection Committee that they picked the right team to be the last team in the tournament.

GO ST JOHN'S!!!!!! BEAT ARIZONA STATE!!!
