Season Ticket Holders Changes 2025-26

Sorry but I just don’t get the frustration or anger from our fans. For 25 years we have been in a real decline. We have not won an ncaa tournament game during that period. I don’t have to reiterate all of the ugly and depressing facts.
We now have a hall of fame coach who has turned the program around. We are having a very good season to date, attendance is up, interest is up, we are ranked for the first time since the ice age, but to continue like this it costs huge amounts of money, huge amounts.
Part of our success is KR, and his price alone was a million dollars. Coach Pitino and the school need funds to Play in this arms race and we all have to do our part, this is nothing personal. As mjmaherjr said it best, would you rather have great seats and watch a poor product or would you rather pay more, have not as desirable seats and watch a winning program ? For me the choice is easy and I appreciate Fathers Shanley and AD Kull for taking these bold but very necessary steps to remain as competitive as possible.

Interesting. But all these programs have real arenas, with real seats. For our $$ we get cramped legs and bad backs in a bad arena.
Yes, but right now it looks like we are also becoming a winning program again.

So, given what the cost of attending other live events costs, whether its pro sports, broadway, music, freaking dinner, I will deal with any minor inconveniences so we aren't in a position like Seton Hall, which had one of the most pathetic scenes I've ever seen tonight in Newark.

Seton Hall tonight: “

1-Fewest fans yet

There were maybe 2,500 fans in attendance, probably the smallest crowd for a Big East game since the Hall moved in to the Prudential Center in 2007. A few rows’ worth of students showed up. And the temperature inside was in the low 60s – not as cold as last month’s Georgetown game, but cold enough to prompt most fans to leave their jackets on.

The only problem is we still really aren't drawing that great. Xavier tickets are being promoted under discount all week. Tough to commit to donations and season tickets just to see tickets discounted and opposing fans getting in for less and sitting better. Also they need a serious debrief in loyalty programs. Am I wrong or is the STH gift a hat. And not exactly a great hat. If you put together a comprehensive plan around the package then it makes all the sense in the world.

Sure Nova on a Saturday night was ideal but not all games are. This is the same fan base who won't pay 2 months of Peacock to for $20 total to watch 3-4 games.

I completely get it and know its a business now. And personally I'm not up in arms because of that. But you know this fan base. They need be the 1000% sure in how they are executing it otherwise the seats will still be empty. But the wallet will be stuffed.

You don’t get the frustration? It’s not like we’re getting our tickets for free. I’ve spent over $2k for my seats the past few years and I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars on tickets over the course of my life. Many of the games I attended were in front of half or three quarters empty arenas. The school was literally giving tickets away yet season ticket holders like me were paying.

Even with the increased interest in the program, we can’t come close to selling out MSG most games and for at least half our games you’d be lucky to get face value for reselling your tickets.

And yet the school has the audacity to tell me my seats aren’t guaranteed next year because I didn’t donate to an NIl collective or to the university? Shame on them. Maybe most of you on this site have gobs of money, but where I come from $2k on tickets is a lot of money. I’ve made significant financial sacrifices to afford my tickets.

Perhaps I’m mistaken, but I don’t think there are a significant number of big donors waiting to steal our season tickets. And if I’m wrong, the idea that some wealthy bandwagon fan can kick a loyal season ticket holder out of his/her seats by donating a few thousand dollars is beyond distasteful.

This is pure greed. What’s worse, we haven’t accomplished anything as a program to justify this. And does anybody really think this initiative is going to result in a meaningful increase in revenue? Are many current and prospective season ticket holders going to donate thousands of additional dollars so they can guarantee themselves the best seats for every game? Doubtful.

Paper bags coming soon.

I tend to doubt that your msg tix will change very much, but as i mentioned as many as 500 ticket holders in the lower bleachers at ca will be displaced. The seatbacks are in response to fans demanding them, and i dont think that the revenue in that section will increase. If anything revenue there will decrease even with a more exlensive seat. So there may likely be fans who had tickets longer than you, and according to the calculations, push some fans to higher seats. Whats unfair about that?

I actually wouldn't mind going up a few rows at MSG, provided I stay in the 100 level. I'm in Row 5 now, and it's a long walk to and from those corridors.

Before the renovation, I could time my bathroom breaks around the media timeouts, and not miss any of the game. Now, it's either before the game, or halftime.

Then, there's the matter of walking up after the game ends. It's gotten to the point now where I don't even care about making the next train, I'd rather see the crowd dissipate from the aisles, and then leave.
