Season Ticket Holders Changes 2025-26

Ok, that's a joke, but what does St. John's do if a Ridgewood Savings wants to buy 10 or 20 or 30 pairs of prime location season tix to distribute to high profile clients or executives? What if that sponsor brings high 6 figure or even 7 figure sponsorship to the table? Don't you think that great seats are being dangled in front of every potential sponsor in business discussions?

Already, courtside seats are littered with SJU administrators and big donors who just a few years ago couldn't tell you that Alumni Hall and Carnesecca Arena are one and the same place. And if that's a stretch, how many of them would guess that Beaver Smith is a cartoon character and not a legendary hoops hero? And while that's not a stretch, how many would guess that Mike is Moses first name and not the starter on the iconic FF team that few could name beyond Mullin and Berry?

Well, maybe the 114 crew won't become the 314 crew, but don't think for a second that 214 isn't a possibility at the current 114 prices. Winning does that. But instead of rebuilding a moribund fan base, once the winning stops and long time diehards displaced, who will remain?
This makes sense. One decent size corporate sponsor can provide the same NIL as 100 season ticket holders. It will be interesting to see just how many of these sponsors there are and how much of a difference it will make at MSG. I can't imagine corporate sponsors paying up to take clients to games at CA - that's how you lose customers! LOL

If there are 10 Ridgewood Savings banks buying 40 season ticket seats each, that's 400 tickets. Unless they're all in the same section, it won't make much of a dent at MSG. Time will tell.

My understanding of all this is that CA will mainly be the affected building due to the planned renovations. MSG seats so many people that reseating there should be minimal.

That being said, if one was to be reseated to a better location, I'd prefer that we be given option to keep the existing seats.

Or now that SJU is currently relevant in NYC, Chase comes in and outbids Ridgewood. Same process, and the theory would remain that anything Ridgewood did in the past doesn't matter. I would think that if the school is trying to get what will not be huge dollars out of rank-and-file season ticket holders they are also working hard on replacing current sponsors with others with deeper pockets. The money from that upgrade will be much greater.

At CA the signage below the announcers at midcourt, which shows up all the time on TV, is for a small Greek restaurant on Union turnpike. I've been there and it's fine, but it shouldn't be hard to find a sponsor next year to pay for that prime real estate that can outbid that place.

A lot is going to change in the short term, we live in interesting times!

A few years ago the school called offering to move us to the first rows of 114 for free and we said no. Personally I have a little rain man in me and don't like change. Plus the sidelines are better and legroom more upper rows of 114

Chase has huge presence at MSG for Rangers and Knicks. Not just box but seats all over the place.

lol you just wanna stay closer to the concessions - lemme tell u… those steps get reeaaallll steep in the 2nd half lol

Pitino effect. People on this board have been complaining for years that St. John’s has been a mom and pop shop compared to other schools. Well gentleman welcome to big time college hoops.
That's right.

But there is a factor about what will happen on the flip side. Could blow up in the administration's faces.

Curious to know what the plans are for sustained success at the top 25 level over the next five to 10 years.

We obviously need to win, but how we do that is going to be interesting.

You're an optimist. :)

Keep Pitino for five, Keep Shanley/Kull/Repole for ten.
