Did Hooper Play?
Yes. He was slow afoot and a smaller player scored over him on 2 occasions. If I recall correctly he took 2 shots and missed both.
Did Hooper Play?
We should be beyond this type of a performance to this level of opponent. It is way early but this was still a very disappointing game. For what it's worth (apologies if this was already posted) but SFSU for a D2 team seems pretty decent, last year they finished ranked 9th in the NCAA Division 2 West Region, and have 7 seniors.
We set ball screen defense back about 50 years today, that was gross. Good teaching moment and reset the intensity for Wisc. Chance to reel everyone back in a bit
Enjoy Sheed while you can...
LOL
We escaped. Harrison misses the back end of his FT. San Fran State gets the rebound and attempts a trey at the buzzer, which fell short. A good look, too.
Has anyone seen a box score
First let me say, I didn't see the game. But if I had a talented team in an exhibition game I would work on my weaknesses and not depend on my strengths i.e. stifling defense and ball pressure. On offense I would work on my half court sets and a in-and-out game. Hopefully Lavin was doing that and not worrying about the outcome. For years Georgetown would play and lose to D2 & D3 schools in exhibition but then later on in the season it would pay dividends. Could Coach be that forward thinking?, one could only hope.
that was fugly. Jordan however impressed. Kudos for coach in letting Gift play. He looked terrible in the first half IMHO but helped turn it around at the end. Sampson was out to lunch on this one.
My take:
Harrison: B+
Pointer: B- but also MVP (great overall but negatives on missing several defensive assignments)
Sampson: D
Sanchez: B
Jordan: A-
Gift: D+
Green: C+
Branch: C
Hooper: D
