Then, call me Conan...I can assure you the answer is a resounding yes.I've recently discovered some excellent Reds from upstate NY. Better than the name brand stuff you get off the shelf in the local stores.
McCall's Winery on the East End was voted best winery in NY State and honored by Cuomo. Their 2011 Pinot Noir and Merlot were both double gold winners.
They are a small winery and it might be hard to find their wines. I just made a trip out there last week, the Pinot's pricey at $60 but excellent and will cellar well for a few years. The Merlot's both the 11 and 10 were more affordable and quite good. For whites try Paumanok, their Chardonay and Reisling's are always reliable. The Reisling was best-in-state for the second year in a row.[/quo
Doesn't anyone drink beer anymore?????
The ancient Greeks thought of beer as a swinish potation better left to the barbarian.

I see you share the Maven's love of wine (although I don't think he would be caught dead drinking that crap) but are you suggesting that we bury this topic by getting boozed up?
I haven't really been a wine guy but as I get older, I enjoy beer less and less. Also, it does nothing for my figure. I have to check out some of the vineyards on the east end.
I hear you red! It is the gas and burping in bed that becomes a turnoff to our partners. When you are young, especially in college, the girls are usually more drunk than the guys and do not even notice or care but the older ladies are more refined.
really? you mean he is not hanging out with his posse on the mean streets of philly wearing his St Joe's hat and his LaSalle underwear? I suppose the Def Jam recording contract and Kardashian baby rumor were false also?

We usually make a stop at Paumanok. I haven't tried McCall's.
They're a Iitttle further east on the south side of the road, but make sure you call in advance as their off season hours are limited.

Still like beer but in the past five to six years I started to drink more wine. Where I use to have a refrigerator just for beer (guys would come over and watch the games), I know have a wine refrigerator and the refrigerator for beer now only has the sports drinks and bottle water that my kids grab on the way to their sports activities.
Will he be able to play tomorrow? Was messaging one of the players and he said he hasn't heard anything about Sheed leaving the school. He couldn't give me details on the reason behind the suspension but said that as far as he knows sheed will be on the bench tomorrow.
reading all this wine talk makes me think of this clip

It's not a local wine but if you like Pinot and don't mind paying $60+ for a bottle to enjoy get on the list for " Williams Selyem. Their winemaker Bob Cabral is kind of famous for how he works with Pinot and was winemaker of the year 2 years ago I think. It was their winery in Sonoma that I got engaged at last year
BTW Glad to hear Jordan is still with the team oh and back to wine for a second Jordan Cabernet is pretty awesome also

Ar the bottom of Pico's article above it says:

"...The Red Storm should have Christian Jones, Felix Balamou, Max Hooper and David Lipscomb on the team; it is possible that current rotation players Chris Obekpa, JaKarr Sampson and freshman Rysheed Jordan would be on the team as well, if they do not pursue professional opportunities.
But with the class of D`Angelo Harrison, Phil Greene IV, Sir`Dominic Pointer and Jamal Branch all leaving, the Red Storm will look markedly different than today's Johnnies... possibly including a new class of high-level recruits, judging by the staff's focus on the 2015 recruiting class
