Gentlemans Club and Uptown Cabaret are the nicer ones. Leather and lace and some other sketchier ones up near the university and the race track. Not that I know anything about them.

Ps hopefully no player appear at any of these
 
Mr Google was right.

I talked to Paul Sclafani @ the SJU Athletic Office today:

1. They have 125 places at the RW reception and as of 5pm had sold 100. I did not buy and he did not recommend showing up without a ticket... so we will pass on going to the Crowne Plaza

2. SJU has tickets available for $100 each in Section 115. I could be wrong but I think this is behind the bench. I plan on buying a pair of these tix tomorrow and selling the ones I bought in Section 231 (face value $71 each). PM me if interested, otherwise they are going on Stubhub.

5 Church: Hip, loftlike steakhouse with a buzzing vibe & upscale decor, featuring a full bar & weekend brunch.

Connollys: Traditional Irish pub with a sprawling outdoor patio, live music, sports TV & ping pong.

I think the Irishman in me would be better suited to the latter.

Ri Ra on Tryon was the nice Irish pub when I lived there.
 
Are the places you guys are considering within walking distance of the arena? I'm thinking about leaving the car at my hotel and walking, so long as it will be safe to walk back at around midnight.

Very short notice, but if anyone wanted to get together Saturday (the off day in any event), I'd be open to that. I might take a trip to Hickory (furniture Mart) or the Blue Ridge highway or even Biltmore at Asheville.
 
To all you guys going, safe travels. Have fun. I want to hear you guys coming through my television loud and clear on Friday night! I so wish I were there with you.

I have a bunch of the guys cells. Send me yours and I will send you mine. If anyone who hasnt given me their cell and wants update on trying to meet up friday pm it to me

All he bars I mentioned are within walking distance of the arena. Plenty of options in walking distance.
 
Connolly's has a great patio apparently but no food.

Ri Ra has food, which is v. important to me! Might hit both!

I expect to be in or the other by 5pm.

Don't be like OhioFan in D.C. for the first round in 2000(I think that was the year). He was ready for the strip club before the game even started. He asked the taxi driver which club Bill Clinton goes to.

My daughter is taking the bus with the students. I told her to beware of anyone wearing a Redmen.com shirt :cheer:
