Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

Let’s win first, then worry about rather or not to cut down the nets.
We should have had an online contest where fans contribute $10 or $20 that goes directly toward NIL, and if you are one of X amount of winners drawn at random, you get to come on to the floor, climb the ladder, and cut your own piece of net.

And since the University has a law school, there would not be any shortage of attorneys ready to pounce and sue the school if any of those winners fell off the ladder. 😁

The impact Repole’s investment is having has to surprise him in the best ways possible. I think he cranks it up significantly. You do this for 4-5 years and all of a sudden you have a culture of winning, of students going to games, and of alumni and subway alumni circling these games as must attend events every winter.

He invested millions in to UCF football and they had a terrible season and fired their coach. The kind of result we are showing just isn’t possible in football.

You give around a million in college basketball and you get Kadary Richmond. That’s, what, 6-7 wins now above Big East Replacement starter?

We are +6,000 or so in attendance. Wow.

STJ is also a very efficient investment compared to UCF from the standpoint of there being no other high major hoops program in NYC and only one other in New York State. UCF is competing with University of Florida (which is closer than STJ is to UConn), Miami and Florida State. And, STJ -- which it literally already did -- only had to climb over a five or so teams to reach the top. UCF has to climb over 14 other schools in the Big 12 to get to the top.

One of the many every things I love about Rick is that after giving a brief speech, taking obligatory pictures, shaking a bunch of hands of fans, he quietly walked off the floor and let his players bask in the moment - their moment, with each other and their families.

It bothered me to watch Hurley celebrate with his team like he was a kid, dancing with his baseball csp backwards. Dick. It bothered me, and seeing Rick do it in a very cool way impressed me.

Yes Hurley accomplished way more than we have with Rick - so far maybe. But still. Good job Rick. It was their moment, not Rick's.

Think he meant we didn't lose anybody we DIDN'T want to lose.
The one thing I realized and everyone hold me to this after season is over. Staff from Rick to assistants to Matt has a plan and we see a lot of this in the Vice episodes. . They have had a plan since this started they have a plan during the year they have a plan for next year. NIL it's a crapshoot but with the guys on our team now I'm very confident we keep who we want. Our staff as well as other teams already knows guys who are coming into portal next year we will get some of the guys we want and we will get outbid on others. But it won't matter because Rick coaches kids up.

I have absolutely no doubt next year Marillayo will be a big part of our team even bigger than my buddy Marillacs head when reading this

If I go nuts in july for not having gotten anyone ban me please till September

I think Rick was right that the kids for the first time this year really felt the pressure this past week. Playing this past week against two "inferior" opponents and struggling a little I think at least part of that was feeling some pressure.

Knowing 2 wins including 1 in front of a sold out Garden gets them the outright title. I think it did get to them a little.

But they fought hard and made enough plays in both games to win.

Time to exhale. Heal a little and see iif they can finish 18-2.

Marquette is going to be tough.

They used to say the most dangerous place in America was between Chuck Schumer and a TV camera. Might have to swap in Pitino!

Kidding aside, what this guy is doing-not only coaching his team but selling the program and the school- is unreal. Especially at 72 years old. When all is said and done, he might get his own statue at Carnesecca.
