My summary of the Posh debate.
Two main negatives:
1. We presume that his overall demeanor toward Coach Anderson was disrespectful and such was reported to Pitino.
2. His "game" this year deteriorated with more turnovers, poor shooting, and overall reduced effectiveness.
On the other side :
1. his intensity, will to win, potential to generate opponent turnovers, and court awareness are all characteristics Pitino would appreciate..
2. A major causative factor for the negatives above was the cumulative frustration of adjusting/dealing with Anderson's support of
Curbelo's "style", Anderson's own communication inadequacies...and Posh having to play "out of position" all season until the last few weeks..
Likely Result: Posh and Pitino will meet and discuss above. IF Posh admits to his own failings above, commits to acting as a senior leader and to giving his best physically and mentally/emotionally, Pitino will agree to keep him. However, Pitino will reiterate that he wants shooting excellence. If he stays, Therefore, Posh's role will likely be off the bench as a backup point. If Posh can accept that, I think Pitino will see the competitive fire in him and let him stay if he wishes.
