No Sean Miller , No McDermott , No Painter , .
Almost every Big East coach is superior to SchyerJon Scheyer? .....WTH has he done to make this list?
I’m sure Cooley made a few top 15-20 lists prior to this seasonI forgot Shaka Smart … could even make a case for Cooley ,excepting this year ..
Regardless of this Board consensus and dislike for Ed , he did a lot at PC with not the best talent .
Always did get 1 4 -5 star player , every few years .
And , judging by his St Peter’s and now, SH success , Shaheen should be moving up that list too .
English at PC did a good job this year , even without Hopkins . He’s likely to ascend the list too .
Cooley was basically the same as Willard until Cooley made that Sweet 16 run. And Prov is an easier job than the Hall IMO. Both guys took some time to get going and then had a stretch where they made the dance but didn’t win games. Cooley had his break through 2 years ago and Willard never got there although he always had one foot out the door at the Hall anyway.I’m sure Cooley made a few top 15-20 lists prior to this season
I think they both are good coaches. Argument could be made for either of them be being better than the other. Willard missed maybe his best tourney run chance the covid Year.Cooley was basically the same as Willard until Cooley made that Sweet 16 run. And Prov is an easier job than the Hall IMO. And he will again.I’m sure Cooley made a few top 15-20 lists prior to this season
No reason to think Pitino won’t bring in good players or be successful next year. Our team was plenty good this year. If the ball bounced the right way in one or two games or the committee did their job, we might well be celebrating a big tournament run this year.My fear is that if Rick can’t bring in a significant haul of players and misses another Dance, he may hang it up.
I’d be worried if he was 10 years younger. The sequel usually never good as the original I don’t think he wants to ruin the legacy of first run, Look what happened to Joe Gibbs and Red Holtzman. It’s hard go work back at place you left 3 years ago let alone 27 years ago! Will Rick go back to Kentucky ?
He is not running away from this challenge here. This will be his greatest achievement succeeding here. This will be his legacy taking us to the final 4 and winning the whole thing. All the other things he has achieved will pale in comparison and thats saying something. He knows this. Will Rick go back to Kentucky ?
They wouldn’t want him at this age. Will Rick go back to Kentucky ?
I do agree with this. Its tougher to win in NY. But, if you do it, you are remembered forever. Plus, a parade down the canyon of heroes doesn't happen anywhere else.He is not running away from this challenge here. This will be his greatest achievement succeeding here. Those 18 year old, labor saving interns are a menaceCBS Sports includes RP on the list of possible replacements for Coach Cal, among 7 others.
Right? But RP does have a history with Kentucky and moving onto greener $$$ pastures. Those 18 year old, labor saving interns are a menace
