Rick Pitino - Head Coach at St John’s University!!!

NCAA needs to be transparent in their criteria and the reasons for selection or non-selection.
Expecting decency , transparency , fairness. Or ever admitting their wrong doing from the NCAA is like a politician , any Politician , admit they made a mistake .
This is not a political statement but , it is Anti NCAA , a useless bureaucracy .

Respectfully disagree. I say the majority of the board recognizes the obvious that dancing is our goal and not doing so renders the season a failure.
I'm taking specifically about this past season, not any season. Moving forward I already said that anything less than a tourney bid is a failure. You disagree that's fine, just leave it there.

For the life of me I can't see why the goal/bar this past season should be lower than every other season. We got rid of Cfc the horrible coach and gained an all time great hall of fame coach. If anything, expectations should have been higher.

I said before the BET that if we made it to Friday night I'd consider the season a success whether or not we made the dance. Agree with Monte that no excuses in season 2 to not dance, as CRP has had a long time to work on putting together his 2nd team.

You have a reading comprehension problem or something? I said we just disagree, and you just have to keep going on and on and on about it.

How's this: you set the bar where you want and I'll set the bar where I want. Is that clear enough for you?

My 5th grade reading level compression is just fine thank you. You could have just as easily not responded to my penultimate post and it would have been over but I didn't lambast you for continuing to push back. Reading compression? Is that clear enough for you? Geez oh brother. In what Bible verse is it so written that you have to have the last word.

Not saying Scheyer is going to be a great in-game coach or anything (don't watch enough of their games), but winning an ACC Conference tourney title + Elite 8 is a solid start to his coaching career.
His career as a head coach has started out just great. Let’s revisit this discussion in a year as there is a very good chance Duke will be the number 1 team in the country next season.

Any list such as this that has some of these names listed above Greg McDermott should be ignored, unfollowed, and detained for questioning.

Shit, Matt Painter probably has a bigger gripe.
Basically written by a guy sitting at his desk thinking of names. Both Davis and Scheyer have been on the hot seat ( by fans), up until recent success. Following K or the ghosts at UNC is a tough act. While the only thing that is objective is winning, there are guys who can coach circles around opponents in game, are better teachers and develop talent better, and prepare like demons spending hours watching tape.

If you haven't been to a Pitino practice, Rick is mic'd up and stands high at midcourt in the lower bleachers. He players out on even the smallest mistakes they've made, and with a giant speaker on one baseline, he doesn't have to yell. He's clearly the boss running practice (not an assistant) and is 1000% focused.

A couple of years ago I watched this old interview with John Wooden when he was asked what he thought of the consensus that he may be the best coach of all time. Wooden smiled and chuckled, and essentially said, "That's nonsense. They say that because of all the championships. I had the best players. I guarantee you that the best coach out there is unknown to most outside of the small town or league he coaches in. He never has great players, doesn't win championships, but still is a great teacher, strategist, and knows the game better than anyone. It's definitely not me."
