No one can excuse Rick of not being candid. I know his motivation, but perhaps he should be more subtle at times. I need to do this myself I am often told
I don’t mind the straightforwardness. These kids are pros now. Plus way too many subtle coaches with mediocre results screams for change.

Sounds like he himself has lowered his own expectations for the season...
Great story, clearly great kids. They’ll be ok, just need some time to get things down.

Not following this. I hope Rick ordered from Sal's which is right down the street from him. But how did the players know he ordered a pizza. I don't know. You want to believe some things but..........

Only way this makes sense would be if the players bought their own pizza to Rick, and then the pizza Rick ordered came later.

He has no problem railing on Joel specifically and the other guys generally, but never says a peep about Jenkins. Then you combine that with the storiesyou hear about players having to worry if he's not pushing them publicly. Hmm.

Depends on the circumstances but prior post was using it as an example to show not all speech is protected. If person yells fire in a crowed movie theater with intent to cause a stampede or riot it would not be protected. Neither is speech intended to cause fear annoyance or alarm to another person. At this point your speech is starting to cause me annoyance.
If the theatre is relatively empty, and there is no chance of panic and chaos, shouting fire is protected. If not, it is no longer protected. And if there are personal injuries or property damage, you can be sued. Or if serious consequences, imprisoned. 
And specific intent to cause harm does not matter.
