I’ve noticed just about every one of your posts begins with some kind of acknowledgement that Pitino is a great coach and it’s great that he’s here. And just about every one of your posts ends with a criticism of him. It’s hard to believe you really are glad he’s here.

We are so fortunate to have Rick Pitino as our head coach - no one better for us Circa 2023-24; this post is intended to dilute the negative posts…Go St.John’s! Great time to be a Johnnies fan!
And oh yes, we may not have a newly committed player YET YET YET…
but we have HOPE and a likelihood of significant progress -

Have to put disclaimer in there for people like U I guess.
Didn’t like nuking roster think it was a mistake. Basically thought what Zach stated about recruiting here. Nothing I have seen or heard has changed my mine on that.
Just because you buy a new house don’t have to throw out perfectly good flat screen Tv
Your disclaimer is more for your own benefit. No one else’s. I guess it justifies in your mind criticism of Pitino. Your house analogy is totally irrelevant too.

It’s a basketball forum. I am not saying Pitino sucks I am saying I disagree with the roster destruction. Hope he turns out right.
Would have like to make tournament year 1 and with some of the roster I believe he would have done that.
I am not a poker pro but I question those guys when I watch it in TV. No one saying I am a better poker player than Phil Hellmuth.
But those guys make mistakes too. No one above questioning.
This kid I would like to get. A better version of Pinzon.

Nah. Your hedging your bets. If Pitino fails, you and others here can say “See! We told you!” And when Pitino brings success to the program, you will say “I always said he was the best thing to happen to us!” But carry on.

attending the show when it was in black and white TV, Buffalo Bob's costume was most disappointing--it was Baby Blue to compensate for the black and white broadcast.
Many things can be true. I liked posh and storr and would like to watch them play for sju. I think pitino could’ve brought last years sju team to the bubble at least.
But I also want pitino to recruit players to fit his system because he’s a hall of fame coach and even that poster from Arkansas who disappeared has to admit that Mike Anderson can’t hold a candle to pitino.
I’m also disappointed to not land Clayton jr. because he was a good player and was better than any of our guards last year. However, I have faith that pitino will recruit well and the fact that one kid decided to play at Florida doesn’t change that view.
I’ll be mildly disappointed every time we lose a recruiting battle. But that doesn’t mean that pitino had a poor strategy and shouldn’t have run guys off.
We can and should criticize him if we want. I (and many others here) spend a lot of time and money supporting this program. But, pitino is one of the greatest active coaches in college bball, so I also think it’s fair to assume he knows better than me and to give him some time to assemble his roster his way.
Ultimately, pitino, like Anderson, will be judged on his results. I’m energized by the program more than I’ve been since the lavin years and even if there is disagreement on this board, the engagement and excitement is through the roof and it’s April!
