Rick’s Targets

Winner's just find ways to keep on winning

Ever since we got Taylor this has been some late run
He was persona non grata after Louisville. Had to coach in Greece and then a one bid conference just to get back to this spot.

Not only is Pitino a winner, but he is a very hungry winner. We are lucky (we were due) because Pitino is extremely driven to get to one more final four with a program many thought, much like his career, was done.

Gem from the Boneyard-
Wilcher is insanely overrated. How he's that high on the rankings baffles me, bet he's nothing more than a bench piece for them.

This is easily a top 25 team and has as good a chance as any to win the Big East. Pitino pulled off an absolute miracle. This is going to be insane. Enjoy fellas. We are back to the carnessecca days and might surpass that.
It really is unbelievable!! Welcome Simeon!!! This has been a truly amazing ride with Pitino!!

Wilcher being a bench piece as a freshman says more about the high level talent on the roster than it does about Wilcher being overrated.

This kid starts on last year’s team. No questions asked.

Still not sure how we are pulling this move off, but damn this is fabulous. In a, so far, immemorable MLB season, SJU basketball has been the best sporting news to follow.

What an amazing two months. First we filled the Head Coaching job with a HOF Coach. Then the HOF Coach filled the roster with solid transfers and some top flight bona fide freshman talent for this coming season. Heck he even started working on the NEXT recruiting class.

The only thing left is to bring all the talent together and make it fit. I don’t think it will take much to convince me that when this Coach has talent he will put the puzzle together quite nicely. I can’t wait to see what this looks like.

Next up: Boogie Woogie Woogie Woogie Woogie.

If our previous coach had to put this puzzle together with 12 new pieces his head would explode 🤯 and he would say we should be jelling by February…2030 😉😊😂

Kids will be coming to St.John’s to win now. Not because it’s a last resort/safety. That’s why Slick is the best!
It does appear that the lifeless, luster less decades when we had to beg, borrow and “steal” kids to consider St. John’s is in the past.
With the GOAT Rick Pitino we are now a worthy blue-blood like destination.
We are fortunate to have HCRP and to have progressed this far this soon.
A top 20, NCAA tourney win or two team is a reasonable 2023-4 goal especially in light of Coach Pitino’s ability to develop and get the most out of each player!
And these are now his players; they all know what is expected: max effort and attitude.
All the best in this new glorious epoch of
St. John’s basketball!
Each of our players has the clear ability to be a college basketball…

Absolutely Mr. Krannars
A hungry, motivated, driven, determined and angry man whose eyes are locked on another Final Four team! His 4th.
Opponents beware.
Good time to be a Redmen fan, for sure 🙏🏻

If you look at the team by the end of Lavin's 2nd year there were 6 scholarship players left after Lindsey and Stith bolted mid season, all were frosh except God's Gift, and it would have been only 5 if Amir didn't put in the work to get eligible 2nd semester. That was quite a year. Never more than 7 scholarship players. The next year they started with 9 and to got 10 once Branch was eligible. Embarassment of riches. ;)
:ROFLMAO:
I think they actually started with 8 - if I recall correctly, it took a while for Borgault to get cleared by the NCAA
