Rick’s Targets

Umm, where is you faux outrage when those whose opinions you disagree with are personally attacked? I express my views differently than Larry, but if you look at the post he was responding to, it was a very specific personal attack against him.

Today is an awesome day to be a Johnnie fan. We’re all huge fans and should be unified in our excitement and happiness today of all days.

Pretty pathetic that some posters feel compelled to use great news as a platform to take shots at others. You should be calling those guys out today not Larry, Newsie and me.

But for what it’s worth, provided Dingle doesn’t go pro or some other recruiting calamity befall us, I’m very happy with the recruiting class and concede that it has far exceeded my expectations of a few weeks ago.

With Dingle and assuming we get a legitimate big to backup Soriano, I think we have a great chance to make the tournament and from there, anything is possible. Go Johnnies!
.Your first sentence nailed it Boo

More importantly, who is our next/ last scholarship gonna be? Sounds like Zuby visiting this weekend. Is he our lead candidate or somebody else out there besides Miranda I haven’t heard about..
I think TCU is the leader in the clubhouse for Zuby. SJU will cast a wide net for guys who can play both 4 and 5 positions. It should be plenty attractive at this point. Potentially starting minutes, playing with talented guards, Joel etc.

You're speaking in absolutes again.

By the way, you also kept saying (paraphrased) "Pitino probably didn't know how tough he would have it here and should've kept a few players from the previous team." As well as making prognostications of the '23-24 season throughout most of April (while the roster was CLEARLY in flux).

Just own up to it.
Yes up until the last scholarship I felt that way.
Thought was crazy to build whole new roster with predominantly mid major kids.
Would have liked to keep Storr.
Last kid seems to be a difference maker.
All that is true, never denied.
You all got mad because I questioned the roster building. I had difference of opinion because quite honestly you all had no opinion other than Rick Pitino good!

Still consistent as ever. :ROFLMAO:

Where was your outrage when he attacked me personally? I didn't see any criticism of that post. And his personal attack was in no way a response to any attack on my part. He is STILL taking potshots at others even while he claims to be pleased with this latest addition now. No outrage from you or the posters who agreed with your post.

You were speaking (and still does speak) in absolutes. Making concrete statements in April.

Got mad? I doubt most got mad at you. I certainly didn't get mad with you. I have no issues with opinions. But when those opinions lack logic and consistently deal in fallacies then you're an open target for ridicule.

If don’t read my posts that is fine, but either never read one or have 2nd grade reading level. I have no idea what you are referring to.
I liked Storr and don’t love FA college basketball unless doing a Duke or Kentucky and just retooling every year. Until today just didn’t think the roster was overwhelming better.

Bottom line is a few got attacked simply for going against “Me like Rick, Rick good Anderson bad, we go Final 4 now” posting.

Rick is great wasn’t sure roster was. Asking a lot of Ivy League kid to come into a totally new roster in the BE and be best player on tournament team. Jones was 2nd best player on BE team and failed miserably. And Everyone including myself was happy he came here.

If didn’t get with 10th scholie Dingle or someone if his ilk, this would not be a tournament team. But they did so……
Larry, coming from perhaps your biggest fan, how many “Soriano gets a screen from Soriano, passes to Soriano” posts?

The horrific personal attack of “We both failed our kids by making them ST John’s fan’s instead of Duke” You are a bad grandparent for giving your grandkid ST John’s gear”

First off in the joke I also included myself.

But hey you are right that insult was probably worse than anything Chris Rock has said about Will Smith.

My god man, the mods on here hate me and they never even gave that one a 2nd thought.

He played 22 mpg for a team that was 6-12 in the A-10. He came on because their leading scorer was ruled out for the season 1/11. They lost 8 of their last 10 games.

He’s definitely not playing over Alleyne and I doubt he’s playing over Taylor. Then you’ve got Conway and Dunlap. Where are the minutes? I think he and Taylor would be redundant to be honest.
Will be a fight for PT which is a good thing. I LOVE Alleyne, and think he will be our second best player or third now that we have Dingle.

You're a complete asshat! And you need to watch what you post. I don't care that you included yourself in that post. I reacted strongly because my first grandchild, a boy, was born on April 28, 2018 with a collapsed lung. He fought hard but two days later his other lung collapsed and he passed away. You have no effin' idea what it's like to be called a "failed grandparent" when your very first grandchild died two days after he was born. And there was nothing I could do to ease the pain of my son and his wife. As much as I find you obnoxious and a complete and total asshat, I wouldn't wish what happened to my family on you ever. But you keep on insulting people and making totally inappropriate comments. I'm done with you. My grandson who only lived on this earth for two days had more class and love toward him than you'll ever have in your entire lifetime.

As much as we liked Storr we have four guys at least rated above him in the portal. And everyone we got in top six (I think) is above Posh. It's a great haul.

I know we need a backup center but I like this kid as a starting PF. Hopefully he can backup Soriano. Soriano health will be key to season.
We don't need a backup center. Well we do, but I think you go for Best Available rather than a bench guy. If Soriano plays 35 minutes a game it won't matter

I do not know Ayo at all but after reading the Post article I was intrigued enough to ask around a bit. In some ways that feedback eerily reminded me of Earlington when he first signed with SJU. I predicted nothing but knowing him I cautioned people about underestimating him because of his incredible drive and work ethic. I got that same vibe from a couple of people who know or know of Ayo. Never sit on or underestimate those willing to truly put in the work and then some.
Earlington was easily my favorite player in the last few years. Loved that kid

Our team’s Ft shooting average is over 79% from the stripe on paper. We should have a veritable field day at the stripe this year.
Now go look at how often they get to the line, and wipe the drool from you lip and take a cold shower to get rid of the woody
