Rick’s Targets

I think starting wise it would be Dingle and Alleyne. Jenkins would back up Pg spot. Taylor Jr is a senior so he’d probs start at the 3. Luis has 3 years eligibility, Dunlap 4. Luis gets the nod and I expect some smaller lineups, with all our wings out there: Pitino won’t have a problem giving these guys the minutes they need. Lots of talent here.
See and this is a perfect example of why I think 95% of those on here have no idea what they are talking about.
And not geared at you MCNPA because I actually agree with your post.
But before Dingle talk everyone was saying how great things were going and Jenkins was the prized pickup everyone was happy about and now he is the third guard?

So what if I disagree with you and think Alleyne is the 3rd guard.

Won’t someone have to be the 3rd guard?

In actuality the point most were trying to make was that we should wait and see how the class turns out. Exactly what’s going on now.

Dingle is going to command a starting position 100% and I would think Alleyne who already was playing 20 minutes on a national championship team, only because Hawkins was ahead of him, will too. It’s a great problem to have. These guys will all get time, and quite a few are seniors so it won’t be long behind them.

Jenkins is a good player, but everybody was telling you to just wait and see before making judgements . This is exactly why.

Saw Iona play
My main and really only criticism is replacing the whole team with Mid Major kids
If going to criticize at least read the post you are criticizing.
Astute argument... I'll bite!

Under that premise, you would be ecstatic with a commitment from Ware a 4-star HS recruit, who played 3 years at Kentucky - a power 5 conference, perennial NCAA title contender, one of the premier programs in history of the sport vs. Dingle who played at a non scholarship mid major Ivy League school?

The only one who's criticizing is you!!! but I think you're just doing it for kicks and reactions, at least that would make sense, otherwise I would be concerned about your ability to be objective!

Then you are being consistent because you really like the Jenkins pickup.
My issue was HAVING SEEN HIM PLAY IMO if Jenkins was the big piece of the roster restructuring then I think the roster would not be able to be at the level to make the Tournament.

Ware and Alleyne are really solid rotation pieces. Felt needed a really good BE player to go along or ideally in front of Soriano to make tournament. Dingle stats say he could be that guy. Hope he is. That was all.

It's been a little while but I'm back with a new episode. The month of April was very busy for St. John's, as Rick Pitino deconstructed the old roster and started building his own.

Seven new players have joined three returnees and I think it's a good time to start learning about them all. Three spots remain open, plenty of rumors but for now I wanted to introduce the new faces, the type of player they have been and how their games will fit here with St. John's. I'm joined by Frank Molfetta, a few of you may know him from Twitter and the guy who hosts the twitter spaces, Frank's a good buddy of mine and I figured between the two of us we've been on top of all the news so lets chat a bit.

Hope you guys enjoy

If were going to have a good back and forth at least be honest, and stick to your guns... You've criticized every move since move one, don't come go all meek now!

Anyone watch Yale vs Penn league championship game?. Penn upset Yale. main reason Yale could not stop Dingle.

Hate touching the money, but just for fun if Dingle, Ware and Luis come I think the starting lineup is:

G - Jenkins
G - Dingle
F - Taylor
F - Slazinksi
C - Soriano

Alleyne, Luis, Ware, Cruz round out the rotation.

Dunlap, Conway, Traore, Keira don’t see much floor time.

Until Boo was beaten
Am I the only one that keeps bags of microwave popcorn in the house to watch Larry Wright go at it with 80 posters ? :)
And outside of Norm, have I ever killed any other coach? So I am going to start doing it with my favorite coach???
I thought Lavin should have gotten an extension. Certainly wasn’t going to kill Chris Mullin. Heck I defend Jarvis.
Anderson got in my nerves but I certainly wasn’t his biggest detractor on here.

For the last time just thought whoever’s decision it was to totally dismantle the roster I thought was wrong.

If get Duke kid which seems unlikely I would totally admit to being wrong. Would also take leap with Dingle.

sime.
Thinking Dunlap will be like Storr last year. He will move up and get his minutes.

For all those who are unhappy with mid-major players, RPs lack of bringing in studs and any unhappiness over the direction of the program, the snippet below from CBS should help ease the pain. For the record, I agree with CBS.

With the dust settled on the cycle, here are the grades for each hire from the power conference ranks.

TEAMCOACHGRADEBREAKDOWN
team logoRick PitinoASt. John's just hired a two-time national champion who has been to seven Final Fours and taken five teams to the Big Dance. Considering the program hasn't been to the Sweet 16 since 1999, that's remarkable. Pitino is 70, but it's a safe bet that he will jumpstart the Red Storm.

Can't believe I'm saying this but if Luis and Dingle pop for us and we may still have a chance Mgbako, there wouldn't be room for a guy like Ware. Perhaps staff scooped up one too many Conways/Cruz Davis types early on in the process
There are 13 positions! The top 7 usually carry the load. To have Conway, Davis and 4 similar talents is a luxury we seldom had in the past.
