Revamped Big East

espn article said that syracuse would continue to schedule st. john's to maintain  recruiting.

St. John's would be crazy to do any favors for either school. Similar to what the Big East did to Boston College when they left the conference out of nowhere, I'd basically refuse to tal to either school. If they thought so little about the conference they played in for 30 years, then I honestly don't know why SJU or any of the other schools would do them any favors.

We'll gladly just take your recruits from now on. Thanks fo doing business.

With the announcement expected tomorrow, say let the teams rot and make them stay in conference. Make there schedules hell at South Florida Friday night and then off to Marquette for a Sunday noon tip off. No Big Monday games or national game in conference on CBS or ESPN. For those who bleed the orange or feed at the Oakland zoo - much congrats you are now Penn State - a college who did the same thing for money and such and have never recovered! To save the Big East I would go with the ulmimate home run - Texas and Notre Dame for football. Easy run to the BCS for all, Two large followings and allows Texas to keep a in state game with TCU; Allow Texas to keep its network that's fine.

It's like breaking up with a girlfriend. No need to go play syracuse anymore unless we need booty call and being that Syracuse is well up in Syracuse the game helps them more than it would help us so F them.

There are plenty of other teams we could play that could be advantageous to our own recruiting

Well if Rutgers and UConn bolt, it'll be easy to grab a foursome of Kansas, Kansas State, Baylor and Iowa State.

Unfortunately, I prefer Syracuse, Pitt, Rutgers, and UConn over Big 12 cast-offs.

I agree but they're going to have to add somebody and the impending end of the Big 12 makes it easier to fill with name programs.

I would much rather schedule Duke (which of course we have) UNC, NCS, MD, etc. In other words, every other ACC school. Stick it in SU's eye.

if all of this realignment causes the big east to completely fall apart, does anyone think that the possibility exists that a league like the acc would add a few of the non-football schools for all other sports?....i would rather st. john's end up in a new league with georgetown, providence, marquette, etc. but i was wondering if (for example) the acc would go from 16 teams to maybe 20 for all sports except football and if so, i would think st. john's would be one of the more attractive choices......

Screw them. I wouldn't schedule em any more. Pieces of garbage. Don't need em.

It appears that the ACC is better run and the higher academics reflect that in the administrations. All schools voted unanimously to accept a 20 million dollar withdrawal fee thus ending coveting of the SEC by Florida State, Clemson etc. Big East brain trust and their members had no such solidarity and now the huge money offered by ESPN and NBC/ Versus may be rescinded. At this point I believe most people associated with college athletics are disgusted
with these greedy boors.

See ya. More teams to blacklist on the schedule. Sorry future Pitt and Cuse players, you will never play in MSG again.

Syracuse AFTER Jim Boeheim will be a frozen basketball wasteland! Mark my words!

Do you believe this quote form Syracuse? Last I looked Syracuse is 270 miles from NYC, hell Storrs is only 150 and Boston is 225. Why don't they lay claim to being NYC's teams. Pathetic
"We are pleased that Syracuse adds a New York City dimension to the ACC, a region in which we have built strong identity and affinity, and we look forward to bringing ACC games to the Big Apple," Syracuse chancellor Nancy Cantor said in a release. "Overall, for Syracuse, this opportunity provides long-term conference stability in what is an uncertain, evolving, and rapidly shifting national landscape."

"Even Pitt basketball coach Jamie Dixon was blindsided by the news, a source close to the Pitt basketball team told SNY.tv."

Yea Right.....I guess the next announcement we get today is Dixon's resigning as Pitt's Head Coach because he clearly has no idea what's going on at his program. What a crock...... :silly:

I like the idea of scheduling Pitt and Syracuse at Carnesecca Arena for the next 2 years... :)
