Remaining Undefeated 2018-19 Division 1 MBB Teams

Yep, although Buffalo has fallen from the unbeaten ranks tonight there is no doubt that Buffalo is a very solid basketball team.

I would be happy if Buffalo or another SUNY school developed a national program. A few years ago I read a story that indicted that in 1948 when SUNY system was created a number of influential private schools in NYS used their collective influence to safeguard against any of the SUNY schools becoming a billboard State school (i.e.. Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan, The Ohio State, et al.) by having the SUNY schools compete at the non D1 athletic level which all SUNY schools did until Stony Brook and Buffalo moved to D1 in 1999 followed by Binghamton 2001 and Albany 2009.

In hinesight it is unfortunate that SUNY did not decide that Albany, since it was in the State Capital could go big time D1 in 1948 and provide funding to allow a SUNY campus could compete on the national level year in and year out.

Markus Howard was truly amazing with a 40 point second half (45 total for the game), including 24 straight of his team's points, down the stretch, in a 5 minute and 28 second span. That incredible spurt led Marquette to an impressive victory over previously undefeated Buffalo 103 to 85.

January 1st match up at Carnesecca Arena with Howard versus Ponds and St. John's versus Marquette is a must see Big East 2019 season moment!

In a matter of less than hour two more of the undefeateds have fallen. We are down to the Sensational Six. By Saturday’s tip off time at Carnesecca Arena we could be down to the Fantastic Four.

Marquette is the best team in the conference.

You might be right, but we'll see on New Years night.[/quote]

We won't have to wait until New Year’s. We’ll know by next Saturday when we play Seton Hall.
Regardless St. John's is clearly in the top 4 of the Big East.
From this weekend's results I see Marquette, Seton Hall, Villanova and St. John's in that order.
The three ahead of St. John's all have marquee wins. Ours was VCU.
Of the undefeated it looks great on the MAP but we are the only team that has not beaten a ranked team or let alone played one.
Saturday will tell us what we really have.

So in your opinion we play the top 2 teams in the league. That couldn't make me anymore happier.
Got a chance to beat both. Then @ Nova in game #4 on January 8th.
@ G-Town as the other one.

I'm hoping 3-1 at the least there. Beating SHU and Marq, lets everyone know that we aren't the same ole SJU.
G-Town doesn't really impress me, we could go there and get the win, but will probably lost @ Nova.
They'll be up for us especially after last year.
Now 4-0 and wow I'll start to get REAL excited. Yeah, I know, why am I doing this to myself.

One game at a time guys.
