They do have a nice win over Nebraska who has beaten Hall, Clemson, Illinois, Creighton & Oklahoma State.
Tech plays Duke tomorrow night (looks to be a home game). Will be interesting watching Tariq trying to defend Williamson at times.

Here is Texas Tech's schedule. I believe USC, Nebraska & Memphis are more difficult than any team we have played thus far. Also, the cupcakes they played they blew out!

Only Nebraska is any good. Abilene Christian is a better win for them than Memphis and USC. But they were successful in the post season making the elite 8 last year. A lot of it is based on image and positioning coming into a season. Recent success, even if 4 of your top 5 left, can put a team ahead of another team based on the past not the future. Success also associates itself with the coach. Proven winners are given the benefit of the doubt until the ball is rolled out on the floor. Then they have a lead and it's hard to pass from behind if they don't lose or only lose a little. It's kind of like they start on the 50 yard line of the 100 yard dash. In this scenario St Johns is the poverty stricken minority, based on recent history, and has to do twice as much to get the same recognition.

Nebraska is the best win they have. USC is bad, Memphis hasnt played anyone. Zion is going to eat Owens up

I suspect Zion will eat just about anyone up!

It makes no difference if we are ranked or not at this time. If we take care of business in conference play, we will be ranked and tourney bound. If we don’t , we won’t.

Heres why rankings don’t matter, with all new analytics etc. , ratings are all over the place;

NET. RPI. Kenpom. Sagarin
26. 37. 51. 55. Redstorm
70. 38. 90. 82. VCU
100. 112. 83. 73. Georgia Tech
111. 81. 109. 88. Rutgers
217. 119. 301 300. St. Francis NY
269. 178. 250. 297. Wagner
27 91 93. 93. Furman(AP #17)

Just win baby!!

Down to 8 now with a few teams having tough games this weekend:

Furman at LSU tonight
Buffalo at Marquette tonight
Kansas at Arizona State Saturday.

Houston, Michigan, Virginia, Nevada & SJU looking pretty safe through the weekend.

Yes, a very competitive game. After watching Buffalo in the past few games I am impressed. They are the same size as St. John's but play incredibly well together. They share the ball and hit the offensive glass but they have 4 very talented guards. You don't see balls bouncing off their feet or wild passes. They are constantly attacking the basket when not rotating the ball for the trey.
They are well coached.

Marquette is on the verge of closing them out (Up 14 with six minutes left).

My goodness Marquette is explosive.

My fantasy team would have Markus and Shamorie in the backcourt. We would need a perfect game by all 5 starters to beat them. No off night by Heron, passes into the stands by Simon or quick fouls by Clark.
