So based on just two AP ballots, at #16 and #23, I believe we already have 13 points.

Seems almost certain we'll make the Top 25 tomorrow!
I really like these updates from Adam and Paultzman. It feels like Election Day. We are getting a lot of votes in the East but what about the West? Lol

Thanks- I wasn't 100% sure. I looked at his Twitter for a couple minutes and thought he was.

So eliminating the two votes (down to 21) and adding in the new polls:

A second poll:

#20

Johnnies at #24 (DeCock), #20 (Sordelett), and #16 (Carino) in these 3 additional polls. Add that to 21- and we have 39 votes!

Just to clean this up a bit:

#23 (Rothstein)
#16 (Davis)
#18 (Borges)
#24 (DeCock)
#20 (Sordelett)
#16 (Carino)

We are 6/6 with 39 points!

I honestly don't care too much about rankings at this point. We are a good team, everyone can see that. Except if it has an impact on recruiting, and maybe it does to some extent.

When we beat Duke, they were #4. As the season continued Duke sank in the rankings and on here many discredited the win as Duke not being a #4 team.

I know we are good, and believe we can play with anyone in the country. We may have trouble with teams with talented bigs, so we will see if we can do well vs. Duke.

If we continue to play at this level, we will have in the top 4 in conference, eyebrows will open, and our rankings will rise. Plenty of time.

I'd really hate after all this time of wanting to be ranked to lose and justify what many were thinking. I was enjoying the underdog card.

Eventually we need to be Goliath, so might as well be now. This team has a good shot at being a 4-6 seed, meaning we'd be playing a lower seed in our opening NCAA game. Better to have experience in that role.

Depends what the expectation is. We played 3 conference games, won two, could easily have lost two or won 3. We played barely good enough to win in the OOC schedule, which made a less competitive OOC schedule a good choice by staff because our guys just weren't ready at that point.

I'd say we should be somewhere between 20 and 25 at this point based purely on results. if we go 8-7 in conference the rest of the way, and lose to Duke, we'd probably need our tournament win to cement a bid. 9-6 the rest of the way, and we will be dancing for sure, with or without beating Duke on their home court (a very tall order). That's all that really matters at this point

Clearly our expectations are vastly different from the voters who really weren't giving us the time of day even undefeated. 11 wins in BE should be fine I agree. Again just would like to not appear and then disappear in the same week. Don't want to give these naysayers credit.

Beast, I believe we will do better than 8-7 the rest of the way, but even if we did, I believe a 21 win team out of the BE will most likely get in regardless of a BET win.

I think that will be academic as I believe we do much better than that 8-7. Fingers crossed

(And, I agree that the rankings don't mean much now, but to me the desire to be ranked is more for psychic gratification after all these years of frustration and futility).

Sure, technically the rankings do not matter at all. Technically, none of it matters. Being ranked will add more exposure to a team that is gaining exposure daily. Exposure creates interest, interest sells tickets, sold tickets adds revenue. And this is not a Division III program with a Division III operating budget. Not to mention they have earned it on the court. This doesn't seem like a nothingburger to me.

Rank these guys!

I agree with you that we should do better than 8-7. I'm just speculating what our lowest expectation should be at this point, barring injury or transfer, suspension, you know, the stuff that goes along with our program. :)

But to face reality, every away game is a challenge and almost every team can give us a run for our money at home. I don't expect to go 9-0, or 8-1 at home. Anything less than 6-3 would be a disappointment IMO, but even 7-2will be tough.
