Rankings

I love it! Stay right where we are. Hope the team sees the lack of respect heading into the Nova game and uses it as motivation. 26th is absurd for a team that should be undefeated right now. Let people think we’re a paper tiger.
 
Over the past several years we have done nothing to earn the benefit of the doubt......so I get it.

Also, I love the idea of this causing our guys to play with a chip on their shoulder.
 
Imho, if we make AP top 25 tomorrow, it will be just making it (between 22-25). Beat Nova & Depaul this week and we will be a lot higher.
 
The CBS poll was done through Saturday's games. Seton Hall lost to DePaul today so we would be 25 now. I don't see many teams on that list that we will be ranked higher than on the AP. If we are ranked it will be barely. Good chance we are still sitting just on the outside looking in.
 
I think rankings come out every Mon around noon so these are not the actual rankings.

Everyone says they don’t care but they’ll be amped with that number next to our name! Think it happens tmr
 
Rankings matter. Recruits want to see a # next to the name and we need two or more teams ranked in the conference at all times or it looks really week.
 
This is just the CBS Top 25 (and 1) based on yesterday's results. Ballots are submitted tonight and rankings are out tomorrow around noon.
 
I think we'll play with an edge all year. The Hall fiasco will simmer in the team's gut all season, as will the continuing struggle to make the pundits believers in St. John's again, following being irrelevant for most of the past 20+ years.
And I think Mullin likes it that way and will keep the team focused and hungry..
 
So based on just two AP ballots, at #16 and #23, I believe we already have 13 points.

Seems almost certain we'll make the Top 25 tomorrow!
 
Unfortunately, if we lose at Nova, it will take at least 3 or 4 consecutive wins to get back in.

Possibly, depends where we debut. If we're around #23-25, then yeah most likely we'll take a couple weeks to get back in. Nova is currently #28, and should move up a couple spots tomorrow.

For now though, I just care about getting ranked tomorrow.
