Radical Islamist Terrorist Attacks

Viewing something as acceptable and actually strapping yourself with a bomb are quite different.

You gotta be kidding me.

I don't want Syrian Muslims to think Isis is their only salvation. They live in the shi*iest part of the world if you ask me. Let the FBI, Homeland security, defense department vet them for 1 or 2 years and we take them in. We will look better doing that then having geniuses like Chris Christie seem threatened by 3 year-old toddlers

They are already on a two year line, you want to add another year? Go ahead and vet away. However don't slam the door because that's the type of message that can get distorted to further increase the radicalization rate both abroad and at home. The folks that truly want to hurt us aren't going to wait on those lines. It's markedly easier to get in via other legal or nefarious means much more quickly and they neither need nor want residency.

Beast I respect your viewpoint. It's the same view virtually everyone I know has. I have nothing against it, considering we are all looking for the same thing. But I still stand by my numbers. Viewing something as acceptable and actually strapping yourself with a bomb are quite different.

We establish a crazy vetting process and put ourselves out there as a country of inclusion. That is my stance. All of my friends, family, co-workers want to disown me for my political views, I don't expect my friends here at redmen.com to be any different!

The reasons a thread like this can exist on Redmen, com is when there is mutual respect. Thanks for yours, and I read your posts carefully before responding. I've considered your response when I read the data, but also consider that radical Islamic terrorists fund raise and recruit in mainstream American mosques. That ridiculously high acceptance of sheer horror would be completely blown up in the press if 7-50% of Christians supported the murder of abortion doctors, for example. The mere fact that one such murderer was self identified as Christian was reason enough for pro-abortion activists to call a faith based abhorrence to abortion as being "Radical"

Their fundraising is a MAJOR concern. How that hasn't been impeded yet is beyond me. I read something this morning that some 40 countries are responsible for funding ISIS as well.

The funding is insane and yet we just agreed to another big arms deal with Saudi Arabia, whose radical citizens are the primary money line to ISIS, without getting any commitment from them to stop the money flowing out of their country. Seems like a bad deal IMVHO.

Professing our unabashed love for Islam over the past 7 years hasn't worked out so well, has it?

1. Russia was fighting the Taliban, their war there did not begat the Taliban.

2. Lunatics who mastermind and plot to kill innocents have been around for a long time (i.e., all of the Crusades, WWII, etc., etc.) and it crosses over all sorts of ethnic lines, witness the IRA and the baby carriage and garbage can bombs.

3. All the right minded Muslims must condemn the hijacking of their religion and create a culture that stops this radicalization.

First I didn't mean to blame the US, just talking about situations that created incubators. 2nd, correct I shouldn't have lumped the Taliban in with al Qaeda in that instance. 3rd of course there are always lunatics, we're just discussing these particular lunatics at this moment.

And finally, your third point is as right on the money as it can be and the west persecuting all muslims, right minded or otherwise, as a response to the radical fringe is not going to move that process further. Of course I'm a bit of a neophyte with regard to understanding the Sunni vs. Shiite issue that makes this even more convoluted.

Ironically enough, your analysis seems to be the most reasoned ... so for an alternative point of view ...

You need to find some new sources for reading material.
Breitbart, theblaze, and the Post? That's like hearing the news from a guy on the subway who overheard a guy at work who read a real newspaper.

Living in the middle east is one of the most horrible places on earth to live. Ask the Christians who are getting slaughtered there. 100 years ago the middle east was nearly half Christian, and now they are just a tiny %, but getting hunted down like dogs. Isis has advance teams marking the doors of Christian homes so that armed terrorists can come in behind them and mow them down efficiently.

I understand your concern about driving refugees towards Isis. But I also feel strongly that unless we can sift refugees and separate extremists from those intent on peaceful refuge, then we are introducing danger to our people.

And unfortunately the middle east is going to get worst as the backlash of what continues to happen there and near there ...http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/w...-is-often-unsure-about-who-will-die.html?_r=0

Unfortunately, by and large the entire region is a wasteland of humanity. It should be turned into a nuclear bomb test ground so that we can start over there.

No it's an example how there are absolutely no solutions that will hold without tremendous loss of life. Too many people who live there are not interested in a peaceful coexistence, which is why Middle Eastern conflict will continue for generations to come.

Guys, if we were going to nuke 'em all, that should have been done on 9/12.Too late now.

I would prefer to use Daisy Cutters anyhow, no radiation and we wouldn't have to line our gas tanks with lead.

if this thread were a "think tank,"

most of you would drown.

If there were solutions, the great thinkers would have come up with one. Right now, tens of thousands of subhuman animals want to kill and destroy as much as they can, even themselves in the process. They are not even fit to be called animals, since animals usually kill for a purpose. I'm sure you have a plan.

WTF do we gotta take them? Let the rest of the middle east take them, or like Trump said: "We'll build a nice, big, beautiful safe zone in Syria for them."
Taking in these Syrians are putting us Americans at risk of letting MORE Isis in and having them do attacks over here. I know I don't want to die because we're letting Syrians in.
WTF are they our problem? See the 2 soccer games in Turkey and Tunisia, where they booed the moment of silence?
They don't give a crap about christians, so to hell with them.

No no ... I think your plan is excellent ... but where do you start in the middle east ... Israel or Palestine?

I would begin with the 40% of Palestinians who think that suicide bombings killing civilians is justifiable, and do the same to all Israelis who feel the same way. You know, destroy those who are in favor of destroying innocent lives.

Agree there are no solutions in middle east. However there is a solution for ISIS. Unfortunately we have a President and administration who are to cowardly and/or ideologically opposed to making the calls needed to bring about that solution.
