@Providence, Tue., Feb. 13, 7p, CBSSN

Trying to avoid utter contempt.

Neither Soriano nor Zuby can man defend against a good big man. Pre season Soriano vs Oduro should have been a push. Not tonight.

Conway gets an A and deserves another start. Only blemish was missing a great look from the left side of the foul line that would have tied it. Gutsy defense, rebounds and forced steals.

Ledlum played tough. Not his fault.

Luis can do things no one else csn do and does some things no one should.

It's very difficult to understand how Dingle averaged 23.8 ppg last year. His decision making is atrocious, and some bad shots barely hit the rim.

Jenkins plays hard, makes some shots but overall not a special player. Not his fault.

Alleyne was not a factor.

Wilcher and Dunlap earned their bench time by not earning playing time.

Taylor ???

We deserve to be where we are.

Season chances all but over. This wasn't uconn, marquette, or Creighton. Game was our to win. End of story.

Go on a 20-5 run with a group of players.
Pitino refuses to play said group of players for the rest of the game.
Very surprising for sure. Pitino’s track record obviously speaks for itself, but this being the first time I have seen him coach over a season, not just a game here or there or through a run in the tournament, I have to think this has not been one of his better years. And your point is a real head scratcher, without a doubt.

Losing 7 of last 9 means something and not Feb theories, soft side of schedule & BE T.

The team unraveled, does not play intelligently at critical times, is dreadful offensively and transitional D speaks for itself. A lot of responsibility all around, but accept it has been disappointing season and they had their chances, but zero closing ability. Kill the portal Rick w the right guys Rick!

In terms of Jenkins, he is clearly played out of position. He would make a great shooting guard. Every shot he takes he has to create himself. If we had a legit PG who could penetrate and dish to Jenkins for open looks he would be a prolific scorer.

We're not losing to Georgetown. I think Seton Hall at home on Sunday is a win as I believe we're better (believe it or not). I see 11 wins and a win in the conference tournament.
No offense Dink, but none of us have any idea where this team’s mindset is right now. You can’t predict them to do anything right now.

If you’re bitching about Jenkins tell me who you wanted to shoot down 3 with under a minute to go.
The only knock on Jenkins is that somehow the team was playing better and winning games when his shot selection and efficiency was worse. The past month or so his shot selection has greatly improved as has his efficiency yet we're playing worse overall. It's baffling.

There are many many many things to complain about with this team. Jenkins has his flaws as well but anybody placing the majority of the blame on him is an absolute moron, troll, or both.

Prolific scorer? He averaged 14 pts at Iona as a senior. Mikey Dixon averaged 17 as a freshman with higher shooting %s across the board.

Literally. Anybody. Else.
Lol yep lets give Luis the 3 there maybe one won’t be a brick one of these days

Or dingle you know I’m sure he was chomping at the bit to throw up another shot that would barely graze rim. Oh wait I forgot he threw up an airball on the final possession

Alleyne the “Virginia Tech sharpshooter” himself missed a 3pter in the first half that landed in Boston. On top of that he missed every clean look he got in the second half. He stinks.

Ledlum? Zuby? Conway who had just missed a clean look for the tie on the possession prior? Seriously who tf do you guys actually want to shoot?

In retrospect it shouldn't have been hard to see this slide coming. It's mid February and we're the only team in the league that has no clue what it's rotations or lineups are going to be from game to game. We have guys going from 0 mins to 20 mins and vice versa from game to game on a regular basis. Our Captain and supposedly All League player has effectively been benched.

The season is essentially over. We are well past the point of it being possible that some sort of switch will be flipped and the team goes on a run to get back in the tourney picture. There are way too many mental midgets on this team for that.

At this point Rick needs to figure out which of the current players he wants back next season and do what he can to keep them here. If that means playing Sim, Dunlap and Zuby for 30 mins each so be it.

The ball doesn’t move when he’s playing. It’s one on one hero ball with 3 guys standing around watching him and Soriano.

No other team in the conference has a more stagnant offense.

And he can’t guard anyone at this level. He cannot defend his position.

I’m no Anderson fan by any means but I find it interesting that no one is ever critical of anything Pitino does, even though this team both wholly and individually regressed as the season went on with no key injuries.
Difference between being critical and just making things up to be antagonistic.

There were more 20 point blowouts than close games. You should really back away from your keyboard.
Last year, just like this year, we had a 3 Point loss at Providence. We also had a 2 point loss at Butler, a 2 point loss at home against Marquette and an overtime 2 point loss in the Big East tournament again against Marquette. This team has done slightly better than our team did last year, but it was not the improvement most were hoping for and or predicting.

I don't know how much the coaching has to do with it but our end games just have not been great. I would have liked to seen a much better last possession tonight. Go to the hole for a quick two or run something where we could get an open look off a ball screen. At the end of the day we had only 10 assists on 28 made field goals (36%). Providence on the other hand had 15 assists on 24 made field goals (63%). We don't move without the ball well and or have good ball movement.

I know it was against lesser competition (Georgetown) but the 3 point game winning shot Andre Curbelo got for A.J. Storr last season, is the type of last possession that would have made me happier about how the game ended (regardless of whether we ultimately made the shot or not).
