SPOT ON. The big east losses except for Hall i believe were all ranked and bubble teams. We are one or two good players (which are coming next year) away. We are close, but there is a reason why these guys came from mid major teams.
The crazy thing is that our half-court defense was actually pretty good. We caused a few shot clock violations, shut down Carter. Soriano killed us against Odoro.

But the thing that really hurt us was the transition defense. Just pitiful hustle and attention to detail. If not for that, we would've won this game.
Would love to see us not press one game and see how many lay ups we give up. Also, Stop trying to block every shot and constantly put the other team on the line. Has their been any game that we shot more free throws

They fight hard. But unfortunately, we just can't score consistently. I feel like every game we go at least two spurts where we don't get a bucket in three to four minutes. So that with the number of bone head plays we make, our carelessness with the ball, and dumb fouls makes it really hard to go into more than one scoring draught a game.

The biggest issue I see, though, is that we love to kill our own momentum. When things are starting to bounce right something inevitably goes wrong and it seems the guys can't find a way to recover. Either it is a silly turnover, a ball off the foot, a dumb foul, or a huge open 3 by the other team. Always seems to happen when the momentum shifts in our direction and we never reclaim it.

I really like Jenkins. He is honestly the only person I truly trust with the ball and I think he's learned a lot the past few games about valuing the ball and not making dumb shots. He doesn't have the killer instinct, though, and can't hit the big shot at the end. As frustrating as Luis is, I think he should have the ball with the game on the line. He can consistently get to the hoop and either finish or draw a foul. If he only matures enough to value the ball and look for an open man when he draws a guy in he'd be a heck of player.

Oh well; still have a shot if we can win beat Butler in their house and run the table at home. But overall, this has been a disappointing season with all the hype coming into it. Hurts even more to know that if we could have just scored another dozen or so points over five games we'd be 11 - 3 instead of 6 - 8.

We're not losing to Georgetown. I think Seton Hall at home on Sunday is a win as I believe we're better (believe it or not). I see 11 wins and a win in the conference tournament.
While the second half of the conference schedule is easier than the first, it was the second half of the second half of the schedule that was the more manageable part.

Unfortunately, we've probably dug ourselves too deep a hole.

Who's fault was that? Didn't Anderson recruit the team?
Uh. If the question is most disappointing, then the answer has to be a team that had high expectations. I did not have as high expectations for last year's team than I did for this year's team. Thus, I am more disappointed this year. I'm making no comment about last season being better, let alone the Norm years or others.

admittedly a bad shot on last possession but Him, Luis and Conway were the only Guys who tried to win.

dont know what has happened to Soriano but his play has torpedoed our season. He should dominate Oduro and was dominated himself. His mannequin like defense has killed us all year, his defense-breaking switches happens all game/every game and once again he got beat down court for a layup.

There were more 20 point blowouts than close games. You should really back away from your keyboard.
Oh ok, I guess 9th place after we were pre season top 25 in many polls is OK with you. Great 😎👍

But Luis almost pulled a Kelce on Pitino in the 2nd half
They are sick of Jenkins and Soriano just like many on this forum. Jenkins sits and magically the ball moves to everyone and we look like an actual team.

Jenkins couldn’t defend Carnesecca. That should be the 100th birthday celebration…let Louie drive the length of the court with Jenkins going max effort and pressing.

Net of the two high school teams at bottom of BE we have worst cadre of guards in league, end of story.

Btw Rick was StP born stay w press so long getting destroyed and digging a big hole

I’m sorry, but the reporters have to start asking Pitino some real question and no more of this fluff BS.
Why do you keep pressing?
Why do take a lineup off the floor that’s dominating?
Why do you let certain players just run amok without sitting them?
Why do certain players get no play time?
Why does your team look like a deer in headlights in the 2nd half?

This coach is getting off Scot-free if you ask me. HoF resume or not, he has some ‘splainin’ to do.

I mean, for example, if this team is a plus 30 or whatever with Zuby in versus a minus 70 or whatever when Soriano is in, Brazillier tweeted something along those lines earlier, someone has, HAS, to ask him why Soriano plays more.

But you want all the players back from a team you didn't have high expectations for? 🤔
