Providence, Sat. Mar. 4, Noon, FS2/970AM

And on another note we didnt lose because of the ref's but once again the ref's overall are making the games literally unwatchable. They are disgusting with all these foul calls

Just checked the box score. At least Yakwe piled up another rebound. Actually he has exhibited a pulse over the last 10 games or so which if he works hard on his game gives hope for his future. Ellison has become the new Ali B (whose game we all came to know and love-but thankfully he has toned down the chucking of the 3 ball) going 0-4 from the field and 0-3 from 3 land. Difference is Ellison kills us in many other aspects of the game. So as not to incur the wrath of Fun, Moose had a terrible game all around besides going 1-7. On a positive note is frosh Ponds with 27 and is our best hope to eventually lead us to the promised land, you know like maybe top half of the conference some day.

Eliison has made either 1 shot or zero shots in 12 games this season. I only see hime with 2 solid games with both over 20. He seems to make more and more poor decisions and is also a liability on defense. I know this team has a bunch of holes and they are young, but all the talk was how Ellison was much improved and would be a difference maker. For a kid with his size and athletic ability, I would classify him as this years biggest disappointment. Zero pressure on him this year compared to Yakwe who has been asked to play out of position. Every game I find myself saying..."Get Ellison out of there". Is it just me with a short fuse?
No cappy, he has been crappy.

Not ending the season well. Don't have a good feeling about the game on wednesday

What is last 5 1-4. When the games really mattered others stepped up.

Missed the game today it appears I saved myself some aggravation Look we can not have a good feeling about any game we play You get what you put in. You put in non big east talent this is what you get Coach is on the clock next yr i for one do not want to give him past next yr if we do not produce a ncaa team He was suppose to take this program to the next level !st yr gave him a ride 2nd yr yes we improved if you call it that Yes we won 7 games but we were pitiful in most next yr his leash is very short think if nothing happens we have to start thinking replacement The money is is getting by next yr we should be NCAA bound That would be the only reason to keep his contract If you were hired by a CO that was paying you 2-3 mill a yr they would want results fast You could not tell your boss give me 3-4 yrs and I will produce

Ellison is a D-2 player. My hope for next year is that he transfers. Good to see more and more of the basketball aficionados starting to see it my way. Worst player in the history of St. John's basketball to get 25 minutes per game. Pervis has to have pictures of Chris doing something naughty.

Problem is he looks like a good physical specimen for basketball and does make some wow moves on the court but for evey good thing he does out there he does at least 5-6 bad ones if not more. If you played with 5 Ellisons out there you would not win a game against anybody.

Why should he transfer he'll probably play more at St. Johns then in Div.2 ball.

Not going to save this game, hopefully we didn't have any recruits at the game. Cooley outcoached Mullin, surprised with his use of cuts to the basket and points in the paint. How many times were we stuck with a
small guards on Jackson under the basket. Our zone offense was for hunger, especially dribbling back and forth outside which used up the clock.
Don't care what you say about Ahmed's out of control game he certainly hustles. Pulled down some nice rebounds. Ponds is a super star and freshmen rookie of the year in the B.E.
Not going to win many games with our bench scoring 4 points.
Can't play any worse next Wednesday or could we?

Unfortunately read where we did have a good number of impressive recruits at the game. Hopefully they saw we need help and playing time is available and they liked Mullin's system, whatever it may be.

Ahmed frustrates me at times but he played hard today. Grabbed a number of offensive rebounds, blocked a few shots and got to the line. Shamorie Ponds scored more baskets then the rest of the team on twelve less shots. If he were to stay four years and improve his three point shooting a little he could be our all time leading scorer.

I hate to say it, but unless this team miracles some defensive intensity between now and Wednesday, I can't see a victory over Georgetown. Even as poorly as Georgetown has played, they are going to slaughter us in the paint.

Hopefully they won't watch the film of today's game. Thompson never utilized his big men against us, talk about poor coaching. Look at their height. If G'town utilizes his big men, Derrickson and Pryor as Cooley did today we will be in foul trouble again.

Today's game just a microcosm of the entire season in that Ellison shows he can compete at the big east level every fourth or fifth game, Mussini shows his talent is scoring points in buckets every fourth or fifth game and Yakwe showed why he is such a disappointment.
Hopefully Simon will show enough talent to take away almost all of Ellison' and Mussini's minutes next year but Yakwe still can't make an eight to fifteen ft jump shot, can't finish at the rim and his hands are every bit as bad as last year. He plays hard but opponents are now encouraging him to shoot and SJU players are afraid to throw him a fast pass.
There better be another option on the table for next year.

I think of Fun when I read the criticism of Bash. IMO he was our 2nd best player today. He was a little wild. But drew fouls and made the FTs. He also had 7 rebounds. If Ponds doesn't get ROY there is something wrong. Lovett looked a little off. Owens fouls too much and other than Bash our bigs didn't produce. Mullin must really be down on Yakwe, because he only had 2 fouls and Amar played , while he was benched. We even saw my favorite duo Amar and Freud at the same time.Dissapointing game.
