Providence (MSG), Wed., Jan. 10, 6:30p, FS-1

Never felt like we would lose. Sitting center facing our bench my section a lot of PC fans. There were 3 chicks just out of school rooting on PC. I’m assuming they may have worked the massage parlors up at providence though those girls usually attend the RIC. Anyway, I would say building 90/10. LY when they go ahead 45-44, we lose by 8-10 pts.

lolololololololol

Thought this was potentially Jenkins best game of the season. Surprised that Pitino thought otherwise.

Also, Soriano went through a patch in Late Jan/Early Feb of last year where his game clearly dipped before picking up again in the last few games of the season. Seems that patch hit a bit earlier this season. Fatigued a bit?

He definitely looked fatigued 2nd half but that just could have been a 1 game thing you could see him grabbing his sides before his ft's. But then again who am I to critique I get fatigued going to 114 to try and catch the train home

Pitino in the “I am Rick Pitino” stage of career.
Can play random guy for no good reason because he is Rick Pitino

Any posters tonight still think Jenkins is not a pg, should not start, can’t play at Big East level, etc, etc?😎😎😎

What was the word... Soroitutes?

Fun game.

Note to team: hit your free throws down the stretch and it doesn't have to be so close.

Grumpy Observations:
-Providence Fans showed up.

-Our guys got beat by not getting back on defense on a number of occasions

-We gave up way too many offensive rebounds

Puzzling Comparision:
Devin Carter -13 Rebounds
Joel Soriano -8 Rebounds

We lose this game with a mediocre coach. I am sure of it. Thank God for RP.

This post should get you banned from this site. You are criticizing “older gentlemen” — season ticket holders for many years— because they don’t cheer to your liking? Waste of seats? That they paid for? You, my friend, are a jerk. Have some respect. My uncle, who is 100 years old, has been a season ticket holder for 50 plus years. He travelled to Charleston for the tournament this year. And he also fought in the Pacific during WW II. And you have the temerity to say his seat is wasted? Shame on you.
Good for you and your uncle. Not sure what being a veteran has to do with this but that's certainly admirable. If me calling out a group of fans in their 50's/60's to show a simple sign of energy (In a close BE game at MSG) has offended you dearly, then I'm sorry. When we have more games at CA because Pitino is forced to, I guess this won't be an issue.

Robin had a tough break early. He hit his 1st two threes, not silencing his delusional detractors - mortifying them, then a stale possession where bad luck leaves him 30 feet from the basket with 2 seconds left so he misses a heave. He recovers to go 4 for 5 from 3. The rest of the team 3 for 13. Not only was he dropping dimes like he was in a phone booth (google it kids). Also, had many perfect passes that got his teammates to the line and many more they should have finished but didn't. He's not a point guard? I'll say it. We haven't had a 1 passing this well since Omar.

Luis has quite a set of onions on him using that Rucker park inbounds the ball off a defender move at such a critical juncture. We were fortunate there. His max effort and athleticism rebound off the Brady missed free throw was a thing of beauty. Brought back fond members of the sublime talent that was Paris "Hilton" Horne. He used to do that in big spots all the time.

Can anyone explain why Soriano was out 25 feet from the basket trying to guard Carter in the late stages of the game and fouled him shooting a 3 ?

Pitino needs an Anchor on Remote to pull Joel back anytime he’s wandered past the foul line .
Soriano is a real enigma to me. I agree that luring him away from the basket is a real hole in Johnnie’s defense. As for “the foul”, players have to know that refs call anything and everything on 3 point shots, especially guys throwing their legs out, creating a completely unnatural shooting motion, but getting lower leg contact. Just an absurd call but one that has become commonplace in the game. You just cannot fly at shooters out of control and let the shooter create the contact.
