Providence (MSG), Sat., Feb. 11, 12 Noon, FOX

The man knocked us out of NCAAs in 90 and 91, got his 1000th against us @ MSG, amongst many other bad memories. We were not a rival, but hated nonetheless. Just my two cents, sue me.
And, beat us in what I consider one of (if not the best) games I've ever witnessed by St. John's (I've been a fan since January '85) in January of 1999.

The "best" loss I've ever watched, if that says anything.

Act like you’ve been there before. 😂 it’s not like we beat Bama football 😂. PS I know that’s not from today LOL
I posted that clip for you, because I know how much you love when fans storm the court.

Also there is no doubt in my mind a redmen guy or guy who reads the site sat next to us today. So Mike from Ridge you were great fan and dude and had touch of greatness sitting next to mjmaherjr and the rest of our 114 crew :)

1985 Preseason NIT semis was a helluva game too. Walter Berry put on a show, but Johnny Dawkins hit the game winner at the garden.

Curbelo eating on bench doesn't bug me. But it would bug me big time if he actually weren't that hungry, but the act was calculated to get attention.
Curbelo is legit crazy. He needs the right coach to channel his energy. He is like a Rodman personality type IMO.

This game was a good example of the value of SJU playing games at MSG. Ticket prices are higher, most fans prefer driving to CA and MSG doesn’t match the advantage of playing at CA.
With the worse facilities in the big east causing a recruiting disadvantage MSG is the one thing other teams can’t match. A competitive game brings out an atmosphere that is unique. We have to stop complaining that there are too many opponent fans in the arena and make the best of it.
SJU should play five big east games and two other games vs quality opponents every year and if we ever start winning add big east games to the five.
If the money is not there to improve facilities games at MSG probably provide a better recruiting advantage. Today was a 12 o’clock start to a mid season game in the midst of a terrible season and the atmosphere was great.
If it were up to me I wouldn’t play any games at carnesecca arena and all at MSG.

In the old days, Northshore and I had a friend Lenny (still my friend). When I came into town one year, there was one of those blowup rats on a road somewhere in East Meadow with the placard saying Lenny the Rat. I'll never forget laughing my ass off. PS - I come from a long union family line.
I haven’t seen Lenny in a very long time. Did he move or just stop going to games?

He had some family issues come up, but as far as I know, he is still in or around East Meadow. I saw him about two years ago at the end of the pandemic measures and he was well.

Was a good win. Much needed.

The tone has brutal which I understand so I allow all vent. As I have said before, close family friend. Not happy with where the season has went. But they guys and coaches are fighting.

I don’t do the arm chair coaching. Being in the position and chirping from the outside is a much different thing.

So while I disagree with some things that have gone on, I still root for the program all out.

I will say, Posh had a good game. I just am in the minority that him and Andre can’t be in the game at the same time. Curbelo has been a prima Dona.. and if I was the coaches I would be at my point whether to let him stay or not.

Good win. One at a time. Onto DePaul.

If CMA has any chance of keeping his job, it starts with never letting Curbelo see the floor again. I hate to say this because we’re dealing with kids but Curbelo is a cancer and a chemistry killer.

If CMA does decide to foolishly bring him back then I vehemently disagree with your assessment that Curbelo and Posh can be on the court at the same time. It’s been a disaster all season , why would it suddenly work now? We saw today the difference when Posh has total control of the team.
