On the plus side we found a way to win a road game in a place it's tough to win despite playing a subpar game. Credit the veteran experience on this team and another Pitino halftime speech. And most of all Zuby who is the engine of this team and the one indispensable player on it.
On the minus side it would be nice to play the first half for a change, hit some free throws and get Aaron Scott untracked from 3. Pitino won't do it (since he didn't do it in the DePaul game) but to me the main job in the Delaware game is to hunt open looks for Scott and get his confidence going. He's too good a shooter to be missing at this rate and we absolutely need that shooting in our arsenal.
Credit to Kadary and Wilcher for finding ways to contribute at less than 100% for Kadary and when his shot wasn't falling for Sim.
Great to see Smith finding ways to fit his game into the structure, he is tough as nails and fun to watch.
As for RJ, in the immortal words of Dennis Green, he is who we thought he was. Completely agree with Joedib that if he could bring himself to pass the ball instead of forcing everything it would be a quantum leap of improvement in his game but he is who he is.
Also credit to Joedib and Rocket for being the only sensible posters on the game thread and figured Providence wasn't gonna shoot 60% for the game and we would make it competitive in the second half.
