Providence, Fri., Dec. 20, 8p, FOX

While I’m relieved the Johnnies won, for those of you who want to justify the struggle due to Providence’s tough home court advantage, prior to our game it looks like St. Boniventure didn’t buy into that hype as they beat the Friars at their home court while controlling the game throughout till the last minute or so.

The close game was NOT due to any home court advantage, I don’t buy that at all. This is not your typically competitive PC team.
A nabob of negativity. Credit Spiro Agnew for that phrase but it fits.

There are things to be concerned about. Everything about the first half. The free throw shooting. The trend of not shooting well at all when a team plays physical defense against us.

However, there is plenty to be happy about. A road win in conference. Our first Q2 win (as of today) Grinding one out when down 16 in the first half and 13 at the half. When was the last time we pulled one out like this. We were swimming upstream the entire second half, hemorrhaged points at the free throw line and found a way to steal one. You know what this reminds me of? Baylor against us, only that wasn't a road game for them. Do you think they are apologizing for that win. No way. Yes, we have things to work on. But this is a game we never figure out how to win, come up just short EVERY SINGLE TIME and we managed to do it tonight. Lessons are much better learned after a W than an L (Pitino).

Be careful. Another well reasoned logical and knowledgeable post and you will be ostracized.

We really don't know the extent of his condition and I will go with the trainer's plan.....or, until we hear from Alumni Hall.😉
They have said he has patella tendinitis. I’ll repeat it again. Ice ice ice to begin with. Some rest and then Maybe some taping and knee strengthening to help the patella tracking. Thats a good start to rehab it. A little free treatment plan for you if ever you have the issue.

Couldn't watch the game live, so I just watched it following along with this thread.

Ah, the ups and downs of being a St. John’s fan!

Obviously a huge win on the road. In the BE. But, boy, do we make it hard every step of the way.

I figured the FT issue would really come back to bite us, but the strong second half was just enough to get it done. So many players with good, but then bad and poor plays and decisions.

This kind of performance against the upper echelon of the BE will be problematic for sure.

But a big win in Providence will have me sleeping soundly tonight!!

I’ve had it. Lots of icing whenever I could. Also used a strap like Anthony Mattia mentioned above.
