I caught a glimpse of him at the end of the last game, after it was it was over. He was definitely gimpy in the way he walked on the court. However he was wearing sweats, so I was hoping that he had a brace on underneath that prevent him from moving his leg - thus causing the gimpiness. But it was impossible to tell.

Feel bad for Mustapha. He is a key player. See how Duke becomes human when Zion is out. He is our Zion.

But size-wise Keita is our Zion. :(

Maybe first and last time I see "Keita" and "Zion" in the same sentence.

Mustapha Heron was getting up shots and working with trainer at end of practice. Will be a game-time decision. #sjubb

Still strongly sense he plays, but we’ll see
Xavier's strength is scoring in the paint because of their size. The combination of their being short handed and Mullin relying on his bench much more lately makes this a game SJU should employ a pressing defense for substantial minutes.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we haven't used a full court press much this Big East season. Can't really explain why other than having a short bench. But that should be an advantage for us to use.

St. John's opens as a 6-point favorite tomorrow over Xavier. #sjubb

Those of you who follow us on Twitter know that Xavier is 8-2 when Harden gets at least 15 minutes. He figures to get 0 minutes against St. John's, what with being suspended and all.

That stat is a little bit of a red herring, but what isn't is that Harden has been ascendant of late. He sparked Xavier's rally against Nova with a career-high 26 minutes. He provides fresh legs and solid on-ball defense off the bench to relieve a starting perimeter unit that has logged a ton of minutes.

Without Harden, it's going to be an even tougher ask for the guards to slow down Shamorie Ponds and protect the ball against a swarming St. John's defense. Travis Steele and the staff obviously knew that when they decided to suspend him. Whatever he has done, you hope it's something he can put behind him in a hurry.

If Heron does play probably a good idea to limit his minutes especially if we want him available for Sunday vs DePaul.

As die-hard fans, I recognize that we may overstate the importance of each game, but I really think that this is a legitimate must-win. With Gtown’s victory tonight there is a 3-way tie for 4th place (Gtown, SH, and X) — one game behind the 3rd place Johnnies. If X wins tomorrow night (in our last home regular season game), we fall into a tie with X, with SH and Gtown on our heels. Basically, there is very little separation from us falling quickly from 3rd to 6th (or even worse). I know that we largely have the tie-break advantage (because of record against Vill and Marq), but this is too tight. If we were to finish 5th it worse, it could be a problem given the limited number of Big East teams that will he invited to dance.

My apologies, not at all trying to cause any anxiety — I’m an eternal optimist, just a little concerned. Who’s going to offer some reassuring words?! You know the saying, SJU friends don’t let SJU friends ponder (too much).

Heron game time decision according to this morning's Post article. I think of the team's we are most likely to play in BE quarters based on today's standings (Hall, Xavier, Georgetown) I'd most like to play the Hall and least like to play the Hoyas. Of course Butler & Creighton could possibly get into first 6 which would also be good for us.

X has won 7 straight over us and they have won 4 straight coming into our game today. Law of averages brings them back to earth a bit but won't be easy. By the way, if Govan had 1 more year, G'Town would be a possible top 25 team next year. They finally have guards in McClung and Akinjo and just got some solid big men to put around them. Will be fun to hopefully fuel the rivalry and have some big SJ V. G'Town games. Would be so cool if we were both ranked when we play within next few yrs.
