I can see this one going either way. All of Booth, Gillespie & Cremo have taken more than half of their shots from three. Paschall will get his points but if we let Booth or especially Gillespie or Cremo get into a rhythm with some unchallenged threes, could be a long night. If we use our superior athleticism to get those guys turning the ball over and limit the open threes, I like our chances.

Ha, spoke to a former college ref who has seen Nova play 3 times and us a bunch and he predicts a 20 point win for the Johnnies. Told him I would sign up now for a one point win and told him to give me his phone number so if we lose I can call him and vent for trying to convince me we should win easy.

Much respect to the ref, but predicting a 20 point win on the road against defending national champion is ridiculous. Like you, I agree a 1 point victory will suffice.

We will get the shots and have the opportunity to put up points. I think this game will come down to us staying out of foul trouble and playing outstanding individual/team defense.

Also said Jay Wright will be on in about five minutes, at about 5:30.
 
I sent a private email to another poster who said he’s going tomorrow, but opening up the subject to see if anyone else has insight. I bought a ticket for the game tomorrow night on stub-hub (Lower Level 112 Row 6). I have time on my hands as I’m on furlough because of the government shutdown. Anyway, I'll be driving-up from DC -- but have no idea of the parking situation at the Pavillion. If anyone has any familairity with the issue I would really appreciate your insight/advice....

AMEN - 64% again from the foul line won't cut it against Nova.
 
Wright had a lot of nice things to say about us. He especially praised Ponds and Mullin. Said Ponds can easily put up 30 and then when you adjust and double him up, he’s dishing out assists. Also had a lot of praise for a Mullin and said that Chris is putting his system in place there.

Went on to say that right now, St. John’s is the best team in the league. The question is whether the other teams, including Nova, can catch up to them. Overall, very complimentary to us.
 
Going to be in San Francisco for the game - anyone know of good sports bars in the Union Square area (never been to San Fran before)?

If this game was a Bon Jovi song title it would be "Runaway." Combined 60 from Ponds and Heron...maybe more.

15-3 SJU run to start...if not shortly after.
Austour, with tears in his eyes, will declare his unwavering allegiance to Coach Mullin.

The posts later in the week will be about avoiding a letdown against DePaul after playing the villain at the Pavilion.

How is offense and defense derived? If it is only points scored, for and against, pace of play will just define both.
