I really wanted to be at least 2-2 these first 4 games. Nova game will be so much fun to watch. Finally a game that doesn't feel like a "must win"!

Both teams have a shot at being ranked. Would be incredible!

Not a must win, you're right, but we'll make a statement with a win @ nova.
A very tough first 4 games, and we go 3-1 in those first 4, that says something.

We jumped to 17 in the real-time RPI after today’s win. Nova is 22. A road win at Nova should put us top 10.

It is a great feeling thinking SJU can win any game anywhere including at Villanova and at Duke.
Now I am not saying they will win those games but I have a good idea that these kids will scrap and claw as hard as they can. Its been a long time since I have honestly felt that way. I am looking forward to meaningful basketball games as the season moves along. When was the last time we had that. I only wish that Tuesday's game was being played at MSG. For the first time in a long time it can't come quick enough.

I’d say every game is a “must-win” if we want to make the tourney. The more we win up front, the easier it is to punch our ticket. A road-win at Nova would just be huge. Road wins should earn more NET cred. as well. No looking back. We should be undefeated right now. Let’s keep this going.

You gotta be kidding me with Mike Stephens working the Villanova game. Complete incompetence by Big East leadership. And if the Nova game was in Queens, would they keep Stephens on??

Anyone have any idea how seating works at the Pavillion? Specifically, certain lower level seats are listed as “SRO” on stubhub at relatively reasonable prices. Are these student section tkts (and therefore not really the type of tickets that a SJU fan would want to purchase)? I was thinking of driving up to Philly from DC for the game, but don’t want to purchase the wrong type of ticket.

I think we’re going to take this game — which would be a very satisfying tkt.

Villanova on break. Students not on campus. Game may be sold out anyway. It happens when you win 2 national championships in 3 years.

Anyone heading down for the game?

If the game were at CA, he'd need a police escort to get in and out of the arena safely

As will the Georgia tech win. And the California win. And even the bowling green win who just won at Kent state handily yesterday. Kent state one of the better teams in their conference.

How’s that Princeton win looking?? With Princeton Winning at asu and and taking care of penn. now let’s see if they can win at penn next week.

Not saying that these wins are amazing. But they certainly aren’t the bad wins we all hear about. We took care of business against our schedule. Which wasn’t as bad as most claim aside from the couple real cupcakes.

People jump all over things way too early about the schedule. Who cares if it prevented us from being ranked early. What counts is later on anyway. Even last year our ooc schedule didn’t look great in the beginning until the season played out it got better too.

Watch out for a mount saint marys and Loyola of Maryland comeback!!!!

I wouldn't call this game a must win by any means, winning at Nova is no easy task. But man, if we pull this one out, you can really start to dream on how special this season could end up being.

No party bus?

Watching Marquette versus Xavier and Lavin spoke at half time about SJU. Said we will beat Villanova Tuesday in that we play very quick small ball but have a very low turnover rate. Said Clark and Figueroa shoot the three very well and that Ponds is an all American and a possible player of the year candidate. I find him to be excellent as a tv announcer.

Nova is not shooting in the same range as St Johns - yet.

Their shooting numbers are rising during the past two weeks.

The Johnnies have to bring their A game Tuesday night.

Wright has known that this their key early regular season game and will have his team ready.

Watched the Villanova - Providence game yesterday. Nova led throughout with a 20 point lead in the second half, however they went cold for at least 7 minutes allowing the Friars to get as close as 4 points. The Friars were shooting a poultry 23% and were horrible from the foul line. .. .

Off top of my head, I think Nova led 43 - 25 at end of 1st half, and Providence outscored Nova 34 - 22 in the 2nd half.
Woeful shooting by both teams 1 half each.
Hoping that means something good for us on Tuesday.
