Looking forward to seeing us play at the Garden on Sunday. I'll be in sec. 118 and cursing the refs. Looking forward to meeting some fellow Redmen.comers. Go Johnnies!

Really feel like this game will tell us a lot about the rest of our season. Win, and we should have high hopes for the Big East tourney and even making some noise in the NCAAs. Lose, and while we could still make the NCAAs, probably shouldn't have high hopes for much of a run. Just my thought.

IMO, a win or loss won't signify what to particularly expect going forward. A win just increases our chances to make the NCAA Tournament. While a loss doesn't exactly hurt our chances of making it, but it surely won't help either.

The style and pace we like to play may not exactly be conducive to the Big East Tournament being we'll be playing back-to-back days without any rest and, more signficantly, a thin bench. If we're playing in the championship game, then that would mean 3 consecutive days.

The NCAA Tournament might (keyword) work in our favor, depending on who we're playing, as styles make fights. Not to mention, there is a one-day rest in between games during the 1st and 2nd rounds, Sweet 16 and Elite 8, and of course Final Four and Championship game. I don't see us being a second weekend team, but you never know as we could get a favorable matchup or simply get hot.

Regardless, I wouldn't make too much out of the game on Sunday unless we get blown out or we blow out Villanova. With that being said, we'd still need to be careful about prognostications going forward. Although the latter would feel pretty good!

I feel like the game is mostly about proving we belong more so than the other types or implications. Especially because in recent weeks we've had issues with bringing the energy. So If we don't bring it for 40 mins in this game, I won't be too optomisitc going forward.

i gotcha! Fair enough.

Looking forward to the game and will be there (on the floor!).

Outside of BET last big chance for a statement win. Hope the crowd gets involved to drown out the Nova crew who will certainly be there.

Need four more wins IMO. Let’s start on Sunday.

I believe foul trouble will be an issue as our bench has not been productive at all and Villanova gets every whistle. I do think we can come out strong and if (big if) we can get 35 minutes from our top five we win the game.

will come out hot and hold a 8 point lead for much of the game. will come crashing down and get close in the last 5. SJU makes a couple plays and holds on

SJU 71
NOVA 66

Similar to how their length and athleticism works defensively against Marquette, I think St. John's matches up well on D with Villanova too. It comes down to the assist total and avoiding foul trouble. Johnnies can't fall into hero ball. Game will be sold-out Sunday.

Gut says SJU will be three point dog or so.

Still a few tickets left, but expectation is Sunday at the Garden for St Johns-Villanova will be a sellout. #sjubb

Some bulletin board material pulled from the Nova message board.......

Think we have a good chance to win if we hit enough circus shots and Nova misses enough lay ups.

Here’s a good question when’s the last time we won a home game against Villanova and were any of you there?

When we miss one key starting five due to injury or foul trouble we are usually doomed.
Our bench has to be be the weakest in the big east. Why did we give scholarships to such weak performers?
