Hope any NY/NJ redmen.comers attending tomorrow night's game have a ball, see St. John's pull off a major upset and don't get caught up in too many traffic/parking woes.

I'm skipping our neighborhood Christmas party (which also starts at 7), taking the wife for a real early dinner and will watch on our big screen TV in the basement with an adult beverage or two. Would love to see Coburn get some meaningful minutes and hit a few threes early to loosen things up for Champ.

It costs about $19 pp off peak round trip for LIRR between MJM's office and MSG.  So  the parking is a bargain if there's 3 people being paid for.  ;)

Not sure how many of you have flexible schedules on Friday, but if I were able to attend I'd probably go for an early dinner at King Umberto's, leave my car somewhere around Meacham Ave. and Hepstead Turnpike, and Uber it. I'm sure the bus line is a straight shot too.

Not sure whatever became of St. Vincent de Paul, but if I were the new church there I'd severely undercut Belmont parking and make an easy $1,500 per event.

St Vincent dePaul closed?

Way to far.  Arena is near the cross island

I know where it is -- basically just spitballing any parking lot within a few miles and assuming people would uber over. The church definitely should look into making some money, though.

St vincent depaul is still an rc church.  Sundays have a mass in malayalam for indian Catholics.   10% of india is catholic thanks to the missionary evangelization by jesuits hundreds of years ago.

You are right, though.  The lot is huge.  The parish is very diverse, which is great.  When my kids were small we'd take them there because father tom Hartman said sunday mass and he was amazing.
st vincents had a great fair every year.  I want to say it was in September every year.  My buddies and I were menaces there as kids.

And someone made a TSS reference.  Wow!!!  What a great store back in the day.  I remember getting nintendo games there and getting gnr appetite for destruction there.  Epic.

Below is a link ro one person’s analysis of tonight’s game:

This is why stats can be so deceiving; While, as is quoted in the article, we've played the 3rd softest schedule in the country so far, there's no reference to that when touting our high 2 Pt shooting %. It makes it seems like we're dominant in the paint, when in fact scoring in the paint is a major concern for us. As for the point spread, if I had a gun to my head I'd go with SJU, but I think I'm laying off unless I do a teaser and get an extra 4 points.

I went to buy a ticket today on Ticketmaster but you can’t is there anyway to buy more tickets besides StubHub?

NCJohnnie: you are a devoted fan giving up a Christmas Party And eating dinner with the wife at 5 o'clock on a Friday night; if I lived in NC, I'd come by your basement and watch the game with you on the big screen T.V. and clink adult beverage glasses with you. I sure up by around 9PM you are doing the happy dance and not throwing things at the t.v.! We can win this, but things really have to break the right way, and we have to show way more than we have so far this season, except for spurts, here and there, second half Indiana, and first half St. Peter's intensity.

I plan on bringing proof of vaccination as I think it is required.   I have not been to a venue that checks and can't imagine the process not causing entry delays.  Does anyone have any insight on this?

My (highly uniformed) keys to the game:

1. Stay intense and focused for 40 minutes, not 5-10 minutes at a time
2. Limit KU's second chances, we have been mediocre among D-1 schools in giving up offensive rebounds.
3. Defend the three, we're near the bottom of the pack on that.
4. Limit Isolations, move the ball, have a high number of assists.

Easier said than done, against competition so much better than the recent opponents.

Agree with all your points BJR. Two things I'll add would also go a long way towards helping us pull the upset - shoot the ball well from three and get their big guy/shot blocker McCormack in early foul trouble; he has a tendency to do that which has limited his minutes in some games. Most importantly get off to a good start so we're not playing catchup as we were against Indy.

I checked this out.    They were already on this and working to fix it.   Check again in a little while.

It's back up now.

Carnesecca, among other venues requires proof. It’s another line but in my experience hardly changes anything as once you get slowed down to get through it you get through the post 2001 security process quickly as the herd is thinned at the first spot. It’s one more thing to do and I’m sure it adds something to the process but I have not found it a major difference - as the 2001 changes have been.

I love how yesterday parking was $45 today it’s $25. WTF. I plan on leaving early. Hell I live on LI and this might be one of the last times I go to this rip-off palace. I know UBS isn’t involved but I’ll blame them anyway. I worked for them for 8 years so I’m allowed.

You get money off by pre-buying your parking.

That’s what I thought but yesterday Parking was $45, I just went in and paid $30.  Both are pre game? Same “ticket”.  Oh well, hope we win tonight.
