A lot has been made of the 1-13 shooting to end the X game . It’s certainly a problem but , we also saw X go on a 8-0 run to win the game . The late game defensive collapse was just as much a factor . It was a tired , small group of players down the stretch that were in the Court . Why Roberts wasn’t on the Court on the Defensive end is a legit question . He played 11 minutes and was fresh . And , he has shot blocking skills . We have worn down dramatically in the last 5 minutes of more than a few games . Late game strategy often dictates the outcome of games . Having fresh and the right players on the Court is a important Coaching responsibility . Opponent Coaches in the BE are proven winners , exception Leitao. They know how to manage a game .
They went on an 8-0 "run" precisely because we finished the game shooting 1-13 so it was the offense not the defense that allowed the run.
. Hmm, are you saying if we had gotten even 1 stop on Defense , it would not have mattered ? Sure , 1-13 is beyond atrocious but , letting them score on 4 straight possessions is pretty bad defense , isn’t it ! Our Record indicates we are a decent team for 35 minutes . The last 5 minutes of several losses have not been kind . Why ? Tired players is as good a explanation as any .

Does being soar and tired mean you are flying and fatigued? Is it related to being sore and Tyred as in suffering and achy from the continuing turmoil in the ancient Phoenician city on the Lebanese coast?

Yeah, except they didn't score on 4 straight possessions. Up one with 29 seconds left they forced a steal. Dunn missed the front end. Not really like him. If he makes even one then Freemantle's shot ties it and St Johns can be a bit more selective in how they approach the last shot knowing at worst it's going to OT. They might have even made it. They did blow it but not quite in the way you remember it. My biggest complaint is on the shot selection of LJ's 3 when up 3. There 10 seconds left on the shot clock. No need to rush. Was an awful decision and an awful looking shot.

Or Night

How are we going to stop Mamu........ and Gill? Probably need to start Earlington and Roberts. Can't allow both Mamu and Gill to get the ball down low, otherwise easy dunks and foul trouble for us. Last night Mamu was unstoppable against Butler.
Unfortunately Gill will be stationed in the paint which limits our penetration and forces outside shots. Oh well.

Back about 6 years ago plus or minus I took my daughter to the Pru and was hoping for a win and instead we were losing by more than 20 at half; I think it was a 30 point loss. It was such a horrible feeling and I don't remember SH being a power house that year. I get this sinking, gut wrenching feeling about Sunday's game, I hope I am wrong.

One thing you can say about this years team is that we rarely got blown out. One big problem is we loose the close games and let the lead slide away.

Give me the blowout everyday of the week. Four games we blew late, and so we're 3-10. If we held on to those games, we are right in the middle of things in the b.e. at 7-6, then you just wonder what could have been.
9-9, some even said 8-10, and we're, we'd just need 1 or 2 more wins and we're in.
Instead now the nit is out of the question. Wish we could fast forward to next year.

Just to confirm. You'd prefer the team to be blown out every game that ends up in a loss, as opposed to a competitive game? I believe we saw that during the Mullin years and it was a total lack of effort. Yea let's never see that again.

What I'm saying is, when you get blown .out that it's easy to forget, when you have the lead late in the game and blow those games, those games tend to stick with you, just knowing that if you won those 4 that you're still in the thick of thing and the season isn't over. Those cause sleepless night, blow outs you just say screw this and watch something else.

That's what I'm saying.

So you're saying you personally as a fan can't emotionally handle close losses. Got it.

Oh I am, I said I'm going watch the xfl this Sunday and I am. Wednesday their on at 6:30, so I'll find something to do until 8:30 just so I can't turn them on. I said no more FRUSTATED posts right? Because I won't watch them.
Yeah I might check the score online but I will not watch another game, even if they got the lead until wednesday of the B.E.tournament.

Going to buy tickets...is there a section where a group of Johnnies fans will be?

With all due respect, losses aren't supposed to be easily absorbed. Learn, work, learn, work. Recruit, recruit, recruit.
It's better to have loved and lost, then to never have loved at all.
That being said, I'm as anxious as any Johnnies fan to dance regularly.
