Samford grad transfer Wyatt Walker has set visits to his final three schools:
• NC State (4/13)
• Wisconsin (4/20)
• Oklahoma State (4/27)

12.9 PPG, 9.7 RPG in 2016-17. Two years of eligibility left.
Was really hoping Matt would find a way to sneak in there.

No flies on you.

But seriously, sorry, forgot the ;)

I like typos that actually change the entire point of what you were trying to say, even if what you were saying was patently obvious to begin with

Plus I have a juvenile sense of humor.

Guy I really wanted TOO? LOL

The need for an immediately eligible power forward - center student athlete seems pretty clear. This morning I went through the list provided by Verbal Commits in search of this type of player. There were 33 names on the list. It appears there is more to Matt's job than meets the eye. K. Yawke was the highest rated player in terms of stars at 3.3. There are 10 players rated 3.0 stars or higher. Stars from high school are not necessarily an accurate measure of a transfer's potential contribution as popular Wyatt Walker and Femi Olujobi are both listed as 2*. The following transfers are listed as power forwards or centers, were rated as 3* coming out of high school, and are immediately eligible.

Name Current School Height Weight
Ellis Dozier Ohio 6-8 218
Michael Finke Illinois 6-10 230
Connor McDougal New Mexico 6-9 240
Josh Martin Cal Poly 6-8 212
Malik Martin South Florida 6-11 220
Tory Miller-Stewart Colorado 6-9 246
Mawdo Sallah Kansas State 6-8 225
Casey Schlatter Drake 6-10 220
Jacquil Taylor Purdue 6-10 240
Kassoum Yakwe Saint John's 6-7 210

Which ones should Matt call?

Which ones should Matt call?
at this point as a grad transfer what they were ranked coming out of HS doesn't matter. Can you get their stats from last year for each guy by chance ?

If no one does this before I get back from some errands I will do it later.

Staff knows who is on these lists and who they have a shot with. They know this is a critical year to succeed and importance of adding immediate & solid interior player to complement some very talented players, assuming Ponds stays. Most believe he will return.

Can't help but think binging an impact big on board sooner rather than later will go a long way to encouraging Shamorie to return for a successful junior season.

Cal transfer Don Coleman tells ESPN he plans to visit LSU, South Alabama and Georgia Southern next month. Georgia Tech also involved.

14.2 PPG. @DonColeman_
He should be on every single one. It's that desperate.[/quote

I like your posts Deleware.
But Desperate?
It’s that serious?
Wow.

Desparate was the word to use last year when a rebounder was a vital need. Keita should be an improvement in that area over Owens and the SJU roster has enough scoring if Ponds is back to make up for Owens offense if Keita doesn't match that.
The potential list of grad transfers seems to be pretty underwhelming and unlike last year when only Yawke was on the bench perhaps the threesome of Roberts, Earlington and Diakite can provide support.
However if staff can bring in a grad big it will only help.

Roberts is a little too thin , Earlington is making a huge jump in competition and Diakite is coming off a terrible injury. Am I happy they are all a part of the team, you bet, but truth be told I expect a very minimal contribution from each of the 3 next season. I am looking for much fewer blocks but hopefully good lower post d and solid boards to compensate for the loss of Owens since I am hoping they will be in a better position to board. It will be interesting to say the least.
