Very nice win. I attended and it turned out to be a really nice atmosphere.

WVU reminded me of Xavier from last year. Had a bunch of solid young big men that would have destroyed last year's team that had no depth, and no inside play. Very refreshing to have a team that could go toe for toe inside with a tough opponent like this.

I can't wait until CMA gets his type of personnel to run 40 minutes of hell in the next few years. Going to be a very entertaining team to watch in the future.

Brought my one year old to the game today for his first game, what a win! I recommend the 200 section for anyone with young kids and want to go to a game... no one up there.

I turn to my brother when we were up 10 with 7 mins left... and we are both thinking, how do they lose this one? Lol. Gonna take a while to shake my mindset, but really like this teams effort and believe that’s a reflection of our coach.

Don’t like to think this way... but wish Justin Simon could have played a year under Anderson...seeing how they are playing now, and the distribution of minutes, 25 mins of 100% effort from Simon, think we’d have tourney potential

We may not be a great shooting team, but we won't have many games where we shoot 33% overall and 12% from three again. The fact that we won despite that and battled a very big WV game to a standstill on the boards say volumes about the toughness of our team. Is there anyone on the board who wouldn't have been happy to be 8-2 at this point before season started? Just a great team to watch. I'll say it while he is down, I'm a Heron fan and continue to believe he will come around and have a good season overall which can only help (along with addition of Steere).
The good thing is we are 8 and 2 while Heron is struggling.
At what point though, is he not struggling, but just having a bad season?

And I’d be remiss to not thank Swiftboat Mike for stopping by 114 with his daughter. Totally forgot to take a pic. January the 114 celebrity stopover pics will start
Not sure if you could see on tv but watching our guys attack fir rebounds brought a tear to my eye from that shoot and retreat bullshit last several years. Mjmaherjr very happy today
Dude. I thought the same thing. There was a point in the 2nd, I think after a timeout, Roberts leaped High over everyone and came down with a 2 handed monster rebound. The kid looked possessed when he can down with it.

Loved the aggression and tenacity on the boards.

I’m not even worried about when CMA will get his guys. He’s making these kids into his guys. I’m not predicting NCAA bid this year and we might get smacked around by some teams who hit shots but we are gonna see these kids fight. I thought next year we would be worse. I don’t think that anymore

Just got back from the game. And what a game it was! I haven’t gone through this thread yet so sorry if I’m repeating what’s been said.

So proud of our guys and I thought CMA coaches a helluva game. Despite our horrendous shooting from three, our guys managed to drive and get buckets. And yes, they were overall a lot bigger than us, but we managed to hold our own on rebounds.

The way we played after having a nine point lead and then they came back to tie gave me deja vu of precious years’ teams. But our guys held on and didn’t let this game get away from them.

Was freaking annoyed at how many WVA fans were there. I didn’t think they traveled all that well, but I guess I was wrong. Heron does concern me. He looks like he’s trying to hard and trying to do it all. Dunn is going to be amazing for us. His quickness and speed reminded me of Iverson in his prime with Gtown.

And Dink, you were right. WVA is not a “great team.” Yes, they can shoot the lights out from three pointland but they missed so many easy bunnies underneath and I thought they would dominate on rebounds. Not sure if an NCAA bid, as a matter of fact, probably unlikely, but I think this season will be better than many of us expected.

Go Johnnies!

Great atmosphere today, my first time seeing Coach Anderson in person and so impressed! Our first true in-game coach in so long and it shows.
I still think we’ll struggle when we start playing teams with good shooters - WVU had none- but that’s Ok. Love the effort from this team and staff!

He is having pretty much the same season he had last year; very up and down. Not sure why so many people think he’s going to “right things”? I suspect he’ll continue to have good games and bad games for the rest of the season, but will also continue to be an important part of the team.

No, I did not. That’s hilarious! I’m in 108, I gotta make it over there some game.

When the camera panned on you today I thought I was looking at the Native American from the 1970s Keep America Beautiful commercial. It was a moving moment.
Except that guy's Italian.

Anybody notice how well dressed coach is. He oozes professionalism and has instilled that into his troops. When our bigs get in foul trouble we have a bench that can compensate. How many years has that been missing. It got scary at the end but we prevailed. The strides we have made in a short period of time are mind boggling. Interested to see how the team reacts to Big East play.

Yeah, I thought Huggy put on his better threads for his visit to NYC, he even brought his own barstool with a WVU logo on the seat. Bet those are selling big time in mountaineer country.B) :) ;)

Yes, I know. But If I talked about some Italian guy crying over a trash heap, no one would know what commercial I was talking about.
