This season won't suck.

We have a lot to look forward to.

great game by staff ( boys were well prepared & substitutions gelled ), by the players ( played extremely hard and poised under pressure ), and the fans ( garden came alive with terrific win over big time opponent )

Wow! I can breathe now. 22 turnovers and 22 out 27 foul shots are the story of the game. Got to give credit to the second team maintaining our lead in the second half. Greg Williams played an especially big part. This is why Anderson is so successful as a coach by going to a 2-3 zone in the first half and a match up zone in the second stopping both Culver and Tshiebwe from scoring easy baskets in the paint.Too many three point shots in the last minutes plus shooting 1 for 14 didn't help.I love Dunn's game particularly his speed and drives, of course his 7 for 7 on the line didn't hurt. Just goes to show you Anderson's physical training alllowing this team to press all game and fast break So, so happy with the coaching change.

Awesome effort. For those At home I loved one of the “in the huddles”. MA was telling them it’s not about X’s and O’s It’s about heart. Also a couple of players weren’t looking directly at him and he said more than once told them to look directly at him. He really kept their focus and commanded the huddle. I won’t compare to last year.
What a game ! Rutherford played excellent ! Dunn balls of steel ! We almost choked it at the end but the end result is the end result and we beat an a very good team. This team is winning some big east games. Might not be pretty but our guys are gonna fight. That’s all I want
Funny...my buddy said it was “Brooklyn Balls” that won the game
We may not be a great shooting team, but we won't have many games where we shoot 33% overall and 12% from three again. The fact that we won despite that and battled a very big WV game to a standstill on the boards say volumes about the toughness of our team. Is there anyone on the board who wouldn't have been happy to be 8-2 at this point before season started? Just a great team to watch. I'll say it while he is down, I'm a Heron fan and continue to believe he will come around and have a good season overall which can only help (along with addition of Steere).
The good thing is we are 8 and 2 while Heron is struggling.

Agree, good win, not a good sign missing so many shots at the end of the game, Dunn came through big with the two free throws at the end.

This team has really taken on CMA's personality. We played tenacious defense and with an effort that I haven't seen from a St John's team in a long while.

Greg Williams really stepped up to the plate at a time of need. Earlington continues to pitch in off the bench as well. We probably wouldn't have won this game without Rasheem Dunn. He was also fabulous off the bench.

Great to see us get our first "big boy" win. Hope that proves to our team that we can compete with anybody if we play with heart and to our full potential.

Great win guys!! Hope we continue the strong effort against Brown. Also really looking forward to Steere joining the ranks against Albany. Another big body is just what the doctor ordered for this team.

Anderson does not hide his feelings, taking the ball out of bounds Dunn threw the ball away to W.V., coach let him hear it at the next timeout.

I still can't figure out Heron. He plays hard is a good teammate. I don't understand why he can't get a consistent offensive game going game in and game out. If he could be more consistent we could sub him and LJ out more and still have a powerful offensive threat on the court the entire game.

Attendance was posted @ 7,281
I love Madison Square Garden.
Kudos to Greg Williams for stepping up and allowing us to maintain an 8-10 point lead on WVU. Thanks to the basketball gods for not letting the last 4 minutes overshadow his performance.
Forget the basketball gods I thanked God for today's win.

I'd like us to play the Mountaineers every year. We have history with them, and my friend, who went to WVU, knows Huggy and said he loves playing at the Garden. We used to play them in the sixties.

As coach said it is an entertaining style of play that creates a lot of problems. Team can take from this that their hard work that has been put in is starting to pay dividends. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Trending up: Dunn, Rutherford(still missed another easy layup though), Williams
Trending down: Heron, Sears(only played a couple minutes, but enough to see this level is over his head)

Best part of coaching was, with the foul trouble, trying to shorten the game by running down the shot clock in the last 6/7 minutes. Of course that didn't stop Heron from chucking up a 30 after 4 seconds into a possession. Heron lost weight in the off season, now he can't bull his way to the basket like he used too. He doesn't have the moves to create his own shot away from the basket.

Earlington does a good job fighting under the basket, his lack of height hurts him though. He should never be shooting from outside of 15 feet.

You could see that Roberts still has a ways to go in the strength department. He still played a good game.

Funniest play was LJ not getting called for a travel when receiving the long pass from Dunn in the first half. I counted four steps.

Not sure if you could see on tv but watching our guys attack fir rebounds brought a tear to my eye from that shoot and retreat bullshit last several years. Mjmaherjr very happy today

When the camera panned on you today I thought I was looking at the Native American from the 1970s Keep America Beautiful commercial. It was a moving moment.

I feel the same. After watching him the past few games, it seems like he's still making the same poor decisions when driving to the basket. What I mean is his body positioning going to the basket is not to his strength (body control to be able to finish). Additionally, you could see that he's forcing shot that he shouldn't be taking which is part of the decision process.
